I have tired m tried. The Coby DVD 968 unit plays surround sound while playing a dvd is there a way that I can get my tv to come through this unit as well in surround sound. My tv model is a Westinghouse VR-3215 and I have a Cisco rng200 cable box
You have to check to see if your TV also has "AUDIO OUTPUT" ports, they would be red/white (not next to a yellow - those are inputs", you would hook up red/white from back of the TV to the back of the DVD player where it is labeled "input", you then turn on the dvd player and press the 'source' button to switch it to the right input for your connection. P.S. - it will only do the front two speakers because your tv only outputs 2 channel audio.

there should be an input line of just audio cable hookups (one red and one white) that you have to run and an output cable from your tv audio output of just red and white. make sure the tv says output or line out and the surround sound system says input or line in

or u can get a 2 jack splitter like the ones aeroplanes have and plug front back in to that ie check this link

Yes, I tried several DVDs and it happens with all of them. I'm stumped that the sound is perfect except that there is no dialog unless I use 2-channel or Stereo -- however, when I use 2-channel or stereo, I only get use out of the 2 surround speakers. (I lose center, subwoofer, left front and right front)
