  • Turn on your Sony Braviahow to stop sony demo mode - icon1.png.
  • Press and hold the Up Arrow button on the remote control
  • Press the Powerlb_icon1.png button on the TV while still holding down the Up Arrow button. The TV will turn off and then turn itself back on.

  • Release the Up Arrow button. Once the TV turns itself back on, it will restore your Sony Bravia to its factory settings.

    Stuck in demo mode / demo lock

    Put the unit in dvd mode. then press and hold the stop and eject buttons. The display should read "demo off". Then the tray should operate normally.

    Turn demo mode off on Sony Bravia TV 40"

    Here'show to turn off the demo mode,

    Power ON the television
    (Use remote Commander)
    1.Select "TV" mode (not AV, demo mode can't switch offwhen you are in AV)
    2. Press the "home" button on the remote.
    3. Select "settings"
    4. Select "set up"
    5. Scroll down to "factory setting" and restore them.
    6. When it asks home or shop display select "home".

    Sony HCDX1 STUCK IN DEMO MODE

    I don't have a Sony HCDX1, so if this doesn't work, please do not rate me down.

    Push the PLAY and STOP buttons (at the same time) and hold them for about ten seconds. This should get you out of DEMO mode.

    Power the unit off, then back on. If the display now says LOCKED, then press the PLAY and STOP buttons (at the same time) again to unlock.

    Demo code

    Set the function to DVD. Press and hold the Stop and the Eject for 5 seconds and unlocked will be displayed and then eject. I just did it. Yipeee!

    Had the same problem. The display of the home cinema system kept showing "sony demo". I went to the system menu and reset all settings to factory!

    Lock and Demo Play Display

    while the demo is playing you must press "Play"and "Stop" buttons, then display shows DEMO OFF and you can now take the DEMO CD out.
    In some models you need to turn off the power and turn it on while pressing the EJECT Butoom.
