Waste ink tank removal

Two part question - repair and code. I got a message that the waste ink tank was almost full. Went on line to get code to use copier without changing. Would like to empty the waste ink tank, but I can't even figure out how to remove the panels necessary in order to access it. How do I accomplish this. Once I empty the tank, will I need to enter a code to operate the machine again?

Ok

This works on the F30, F60, and F80.
Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter
1) Enter SERVICE MODE.---
By pressing Menu-Copy-#
2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
5) Select 0. [INK COUNT].
6) Press the [OK] key.
7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.

Skip step (6) since there is no [OK] key on F30 printers.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

    Hi there

You can take it apart to clean but you have to be carefull doing it inside you cant miss it there be pads imside just clean all out but be careful of any wires when take apart.

    Some printers can be tricky.

I own a canon w8200 pigment large format printer. I replaced two cartridges, Magenta and Yellow. The printer did a nozzle check that seemed to take too long. I then received a 'waste ink tank full'...

<Remedy>
1.Waste ink absorber
Use SERVICE MODE>COUNTER>PRINTER>W-INK to check the waste ink
absorber. Replace if the waste ink level is near the limit (14400).
After replacing the tank, perform SERVICE MODE>INITIALIZE>W-INK.

MY Pixma IP90v has an error message waste tank full. Can I fix that myself or do I have to take to a repair station?

It's time to replace 3's WASTE INK ABSORBER KIT & reset waste ink counter.
The WASTE INK ABSORBER KIT is approx. USD10/pcs
You should send it to service centre

Printer sending message

Waste ink tank/pads getting full.

Normally your remedy is to replace the "Waste Ink Pad/Pads" with a new one/ones and then reset the "Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter". The waste ink pads are normally housed in a black plastic box. They are located in the bottom of the printer, towards the front, just under where the paper starts to exit. You would have to remove the "Top Cover Assembly" to be able to get to the screw or screws that hold that assembly in place. If you cannot figure out how to remove the waste ink pad holder assembly [plastic box], you may need to actually get a SERVICE MANUAL, to refer to that removal procedure.

You may want to try doing a general search on the "Fixyourownprinter.com" printer repair site, under WASTE INK PADS or WASTE INK COUNTER RESET PROCEDURE.
