SOURCE: when ever i turn on

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Onkyo tx sr 703 Will not work Power on Standby on Il shows volume for 3 seconds and then turns itself off

3 seconds shut down: dc protection triggered. The problem comes from the vertically installed circuit board next to the heat sink with power transistors mount.

Onkyo TX-SV525 remains on. Cannot turn it off at the on/off control button.

Put an on/off switch in the power mains wire. Unless you want to go trough all the trouble of replacing the bad switch. PIA.

I have a Onkyo TXSR-574 Receiver. After playing for a period of time (its never consistent) the receiver will cut off. You can cut it back on and it will play about two seconds and cut off again. It's...

The amp is protecting itself from something either real or perceived by the protection circuitry.
Check your speaker impedances to make sure they are all what they are supposed to be (IE, 4 or 6 or 8 ohms depending on the speakers and arrangement).
Feel the amp to see if it's warmer than it should be - blow any dust out of the heatsinks.
when it cuts off, try spraying freeze mist on the components until it turns back on and behaves - accurate use of freeze mist can diagnose a thermal problem easily.
Look for bulging or leaking capacitors anywhere in the circuity.
Failing that, it'll have to go into a shop.

My Onkyo Receiver TX 601 is turning itself off

Several things can cause this: Loud signal passages can momentarily draw high currents at the mains, especially if you have unit plugged into power stripe with other equipment. Or if unit is plugged into isolation transformer, current draw may exceed output of transformer. Too many speakers hooked to output or if one is bad (partially shorted due to overheating)

DX-C390 turn on

Use a surge protection power strip (such as the Power Protect AV 600 by Monster Power).

This will elliminate erratic behaviour of the unit, since even minute fluctuations in the power source from unbridled house current will affect the sensitive internal components of the Onkyo DX-C390 6-Disc CD Changer.
