  1. From the Windows Start Screen, search Turn wireless devices on or off.
  2. Enable or disable Airplane Mode to stop all wireless communication. Under Wireless Devices, choose whether to enable or disable WiFi and Bluetooth.
     
     
     
     If there is no Wi-Fi option present, see Unable to detect any wireless networks in range Window 7, 8 & 10.

  1. Click the Windows button -> Settings -> Network & Internet.
  2. Slide WiFi On, then available networks will be listed. Click Connect. Disable/Enable WiFi.
     
     
     
     If there is no Wi-Fi option present, follow Unable to detect any wireless networks in range. Window 7, 8 & 10.

Check the sides and in front of your laptop for a small switch that says WLAN and make sure that it is switched on.

There is usually only 1 way to turn on wireless especially if it is switch. Maybe you can use a small screw driver and turn it on but be gentle since its very fragile. Sorry for bad new. Good luck.

First, turn the wireless switch OFF and switch it back ON
(make sure sure that there is a BLUE light on the wireless indicator)
then press Fn+F5 (this will ENABLE the wireless capability of your computer)

wireless capability on my acer laptop is a switch that you toggle on the front of the computer.

I suspect that you just need to slide the switch over and release to turn the light on for WiFi and also to turn the WiFi capability on.

There is no hard switch for the wifi radio in your laptop model. Look at the Function Keys and tap the key that enables wifi radio

The wireless activation toggle is hold down the Fn key and hit F1.

ok so my wireless switch wont turn on i have a new gate way laptop was working fine yesterday

Most desktop computers are not by default wifi capable (barring a few models that include an internal USB wifi adapter in the case.) If you have added wifi to the unit by installing an internal PCI-Card Wifi adapter or plugged in a USB Wifi adapter into one of your USB ports then that capability will be added. As far as a Keyboard command to activate the Wifi, that is usually dependent on the Computer and/or the brand and model of the adapter installed. What brand of Computer and model are you having problems with? If the Wifi was added after it was purchased, what brand and model of adapter are you using?

If you were using Desktop PCs, then usually you need to install a WiFi Card to make it WiFi Capable (its like a LAN Card but with Antenna, or you can simply purchase a USB WiFi device if you dont want to open your Computer. if you were use a Laptop check for WiFi setting or switch on your Laptop and turn it on, make sure your WiFi driver is installed properly.
