I am not sure what is your question but it look like that you wanted to update firmware for this laptop but your have not mentioned the model number of this laptop.
Here is the 2 solution:-
1.Go to the manufacturer website of this laptop and update latest firmware.
2.If this laptop is in warranty then call customer care and they can also assist you to update the latest firmware.

You do not uninstall firmware. Rather, you install the relevant update. This is NOT the same as updating a printer driver. To find out if your printer has a firmware update, you go to the HP site and log in to the support for your printer. If such an update exists, it will list it. One thing you can do.
Try to download an updated firmware for from the manufacturer of the DSL modem.
In most of the cases this will resolve the issue that you are describing.
Lastly I would suggest to buy new one if it stills does not work
