I used the device until it was empty so I tried to charge it again. When I plugged the device to the pc, it did not charge. Instead, when I plug it in, only the display screen is shown and sometimes the display blinks when I plug it again. I've tried soft/hard resetting it but it still doesn't work. I also tried to plug it in with another usb cord but to no avail. I also tried to repair it using songbird but it will just show an error right after. Is there no other way I can repair this by myself before I throw it away?

SOURCE: My Sansa Express is not responding. It won't turn
Just to be sure, First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.
SOURCE: I have had my Sony walkman NWZ-E436F for about 3
Hey... I know this thread is fairly old... but I will tell you what I did. I have the Sony MP3 walkman,NWZ-E438F.. Until recently I have had no problems just disconnecting, I had no way of sagely ejecting. Yesterday, I tried disconnecting, and the screen started flickering and and saying that it was still connected... and that was all I got... so I left it plugged in till this morning. I went to Sonystyle.com.
At the top of the screen, find where it says support, click on online product support. When it brings you to the next page, you will see an area where you can put your model # right to the right of all the icons. Enter your model number found on the back of your device and press enter.
On the next page toward the top, you will see a link under Drivers & Software. Click on that. Select your operating system on the next page, select firmware and follow the steps... It really said I was upgrading from a current 1.02 to a new 1.02, but after it was done, the screen on my MP3 Continued sayin do not disconnect, and I was able to "safely" disconnect my device buy right-clicking that Icon in the bottom right hand corner of your PC.
That is the only time you have to disconnect in that fashion... once you plug it back in again, you can disconnect as you did before, by just unplugging. But now mine is Fine.
SOURCE: On my Gogear Raga 2GB I can't make a playlist.
Sync all the songs you want onto the raga via 'songbird'.
Stay connected, then go to windows explorer, identify your device. Then in 'Music', make folders for your playlists. Manually transfer (drop and drag) your songs to the required folder/playlist.
When using the raga use the 'folder' option. Works as playlists.
