Camera says new sd card is full

My 128 mb sd card was getting full so I went and bought a 2gb sd card. When I put it in the camera and turn it on the camera says the sd card is full. I bought a cheaper sd card made by President's Choice but I don't think that should matter. Does this older camera not take a 2 gb sd card?

SOURCE: Kodak c310 camera won't format new SD 2GB card old card same size

Older C310s won't take that large a card. Try to exchange it for a 1 GB or smaller. I had the same problem - a PNY 1 GB works fine

SOURCE: I bought a 2GB SD card for my Kodak EasyShare C330 Camera

After having the same trouble, I installed a 1 gb card and it worked just fine. It appears the Kodak C330 won't recognize a 2 gb car.

My lg does not read 2gb sd card.it tell me to insert a new one.Bt it can read 128 mb sd card

Your 2 Gb is not just an SD card, it is a SDHC card. The first 2Gb SD cards, still were SD, but 2Gb was the limit for the FAT 16 and 32 format and for the normal SD cards. The same happened with the hard disks. They developed the SDHC card, and made the new hardware downward compatible with the old SD cards. So in a new camera, you can insert SDXC, SDHC, SD and even MMC cards. But the cameras, card readers and phones, who were made for SD, can't use the SDHC or SDXC cards.
SDHC can work with memories up to 32 Gb and from that on, it is SDXC.
There still should be some 2Gb SD cards around, but not sure you still can fine one. The producers of memory cards now only make SDHC cards and up. Perhaps you only can get some 1Gb cards as SD card, but perhaps nobody will ever make these cards anymore.

I mannaged to buy a 4 GB SD card a few years ago, but that was the last I ever saw in the capacity. 25264488-uil2tdgcy05knvgzh4oup5lj-2-0.png

Bought a 4GB SD card for my easyshare z700 camera. when I try to format it says to select "continue". when I select it loops right back to "memory card requires formatting, select continue". All the while...

The Z700 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity) and will not work in the Z700. You'll have to stay with SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Where can I get a memorty card SD 128 MB for my Kodak Easy Share C 743? Can I also use a larger memory card such as 2 GB or 4 Mb? A. N. [email protected]

You can use SD cards up to 2GB in size. You cannot use SDHC cards bigger than 2GB. You should be able to get SD cards at any office supply or electronics store. You could probably even find them in most supermarkets and drug stores, though they might cost a little more.

UNSUPPORTED FORMAT

Since this camera is fifteen years old, and is long discontinued, it is unlikely that spares will be available for it. The camera shop gave you the most cost effective advice.

SD card

wahoo!just been rummaging the internet and i have found that these cameras will only take up to a 1gb memory card!so just get a smaller size card
The camera has 16 MB of internal memory. Memory capacity can be expanded with 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB up to a maximum of 1 GB SD or MMC cards.

Nikon Coolpix 4600: Problem: It won't take any photos, it reads: THIS CARD CANNOT BE USED. The card is 128 MB. I purchased a new card: 2GB but it won't work also. My manual says to clean the contacts...

1) Have you formatted the cards?

2) Try the cards in the card reader in your computer to see if they can be read.

3) Try the "switch off camera - remove and replace battery - switch on camera" trick with the original 128 Mb card in place. This will reset the camera's memory.

4) Note the type of card is important - not all cards can be used in a camera (especially some of the latest bigger ones) - check the type of cards supported by your camera.

I found this at the Nikon USA site (note that the 2 GB card is not listed - as said "Cards are not all the same" and use different drivers to operate them):

Question Which Secure Digital Cards are approved for use in the Coolpix 4600/5600? trnsp.gif Answer The Nikon Quality Department has tested the following cards and approved their use in the Coolpix 4600/5600:

SD memory cards:
SanDisk 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB, 512MB*, 1 GB
Panasonic 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB*,1 GB
Toshiba 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 128 MB*, 256 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB

*High speed type of 10 MB/s or over

Other brands and capacities of cards may work, but Nikon cannot guarantee their operation. Check with the manufacturer of the third-
party card for compatibility information. Nikon recommends keeping one of the approved cards available for troubleshooting.
