If I power cycle the unit it will work with the remote for just a few minutes then quits. I have tried another Bose remote as I have two with the same results. The unit still works fine using the buttons on top. I believe there is an issue with the IR/RF receiver in the unit. Any suggestions?

The IR Receiver is on the Front behind the snap-off front cover. Note you have to take off the front shroud of the DVD player to get the front cover off. Also note the IR is very very delicate and the slighest wrong move will remder the board it connects to broken. If you can get the dvd shroud and front cover off - you'll see what looks like a small rubber dot in the center (top to bottom ) and (side to side). Good luck. Bose does NOT make these units so consumers can work on them. I only know how this works as I too and trying to get my unit repaired and I won't be held hostage by Bose.

Pull off the front panel, be carefull there is a ribbon attached. Detach the ribbon. There are 2 ribbons attached to the front panel, one that leads to the IR (remote sensor) and other for the controls on the top of the unit.
Most likely the ribbon that goes to the IR sensor detached itself, this is common if the unit is dropped etc. Insert the ribbons (2) re-attach the front panel and the remote should work fine. You'll notice some tape on the IR ribbon, I suggest using some stronger tape, BOSE tape thats not very good.
This happened to me on my 3-2-1 GS II system and fixed it.

-If this happens on all DVDs, then this may need to be repaired (Bose will repair this for free if this is the case- they can test it too)
-If this happens on some or most DVDs, you can try a firmware update. Call Bose at 800-367-4008 and tell them about this. Request the most recent software/firmware update disc.
If you haven't already, just try resetting this first. (unplug the power cord from the acoustimass module for about 30+ seconds and try again)
If this happens primarily on rentals or home-made dvds, an update will most likely fix the problem.

check the power suply behind the acoustimass set to 115v, not to 230, that will solve you problem

Well, it seems that this may be a common issue with this BOSE unit. My 321 GSIII was working fine as well for about a week. After a full frustrating day of switching, disconnecting, reconnecting cables and resetting the unit and TV several times, I was forced to call the BOSE Technical. They tried to help with the situation over the phone by directing me to do just about everything I did before I ever called them. After about an hour of their unsuccessful help, they left me in saying that I will now have to run Composite cables because my TV will not connect for some reason through HDMI even though it was working for a short time. AHHHHH...I custom prepared the walls in my new office to accommodate non-exposed cables and wires and now BOSE is saying to expose Composite cables. Tomorrow, I am going to connect the Composite cables to confirm if the 321 will now work that way (for curiousty). I will then call BOSE back and demand a replacement unit. I will keep all in the loop with my progress of this situation.
