Can I access the menu without the remote control??

My 13VT-K100 Sharp TV/VCR combo is stuck on AIR, so I can't get all the channels available to me via my cable at school! I'm thinking I need to access the on-screen menu and change it to "CABLE" and then reprogram the channels... Only problem is I don't have the original remote and the universal remote that I'm using only allows me to get as far as calling up the on-screen menu with the MENU button -- when I try to navigate the menu with the arrow keys on the universal remote, it just won't respond! So my universal remote is useless in this case... Any way to access/navigate the menu using just the television's buttons to get this done??? ( Or anyone know where I could get another original remote for this thing? )

SOURCE: tv vcr combo cannot program tv

Try pushing the volume buttons in the middle so that you are mashing both the up and down button, your menu should appear. then you can use the channel buttons for moving up and down.

on some models the menu button is on the front disguised as the volume up/down or channel up/down buttons. you have to push both up/down buttons on either one of these to bring up the menu.

try ebay with the model number; I had the same thing with a sharp set I own---only way to access the menu and do things is with an original remote--if this was helpful please vote for me.

Program channels without remote

Cannot be done but a replacement (original not universal) should be available from Sharp and not overly expensive.

I have a sharp tv/vrc combo without a remote. I'm using a universal remote but wont let me get into the menu. I need to change it from cable to air. Can someone help?

For sharp TV-VCR Combo with universal remore control,

1/ Start by pressing SET & TV at the same time, the LED goes solid RED

2/ Press 009 or whatever code works for your TV.

3/ Confirm that you can now use your control to flip channels..

Then,
4/ Just press the blue button 2-/12. That allows you to change from cable to air and vis-versa. Hope that helps.

Resetting lock and accessing menu with universal remote

For these tvs you have to unplug them for three hours to reset them. When you are able to access the menu if the remote control is not allowing you to move up and down left and right usually channel up is up channel down is down volume - is left and volume + is right. If worse comes to worse you can get the original remote from Sharp for $42.50 +tax and shipping by calling 1.877.674.2832 or from replacementremotes.com for $39.65 at 336-377-2220. The remote can always be returned if having it does not fix your problem.

How do i switch from "air" input to cable input on a 13 in sharp tv/VCR combo unit

Hi

It will depend on your input set up but Page 13 of the user manual should help, if you do not have one try www.usermanualsguide.com/sharp/televisions/13VT-R100_R150 and download one.

Record one channel while watchign another

Ouirkygirl, a TV\VCR combo can only watch TV on a channel & record THAT channel. If the monitor is connected directly to the VCR then u should be able to RECORD what u see. Do you have a separate channel changer [buttons that say up\down channel ?] on the face of the VCR portion? If so, then u should be able to change the channel ON the VCR, record that channel, then change the channel ON the TV, .... I don't think so,.........any thing is possable

please explain your words :: "but when I record something it jumps to tha channel evern if I am watching something else at the time."
