IPod randomly shuts off

Why does my iPod 4 randomly shut off? I bout a belkin stand thing and I looked at the back of the box and it showed iPod but I didn't look at what generation. (it was also for iPhones) While using it, it would charge my iPod. After a week of using it, it now randomly turns off! Any solutions?

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

Has the battery been charged lately? If not, try charging it first and then try to turn it on. If that is not the case your ipod probably just needs to be reset. Try pressing the center button with the menu button together and hold those two buttons together for about 6-10 seconds. You should get an apple icon that comes on before you will see your menu for your applications.

Try resetting the ipod while its connected to the computer by holding both the menu and center button at the same time for 6-10 seconds until you see an apple appear on the screen. You may need to repeat the reset. If this fails your looking at a hardware issue most likely. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Ipod wont turn on. ive tried everything! none worked! HELP!

You will want to attempt to force the iPod into disc mode before restoring. This should solve your issue.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect" If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.
If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.
Please let me know if this did not resolve your issue. :)

SOURCE: ipod will not charge or turn on att all

I had same problem. Don't know the cause, but a recommendation to hold the on/off switch and the menu button down simultaneously for 20 seconds got it back up and running. Hope this helps for you.

I have a 1994 ford Sable. It randomly shuts off

Look at the fuel pump as your problem. When you first get into car listen for pump. Have someone put their next to the fill cap and have them listen for a hum. If no hum bad fuel pump.

Acura integra 1993 shut off

This happened to me, first thing I checked is the main relay under the steering column, look for a 1x2 box, it should be labeled. Have a friend resolder the joints or get a remanufactured one online. Still dies after driving a bit? Your next change would be the distributor, you can buy one on ebay for around 100 - 150 I think. Still? Then the fuel pump needs to be changed. This is the order of cost and difficulty. I got the car running and still runs, my problem was the distributor.

Ipod touch randomly shuts down

Hello. This is actually a very common problem with the 1st Generation 16GB Touch. It is recommended you do a system restore before these steps, but not necessary.

Step 1.
Go into Settings, and click on the General Tab
Step 2.
Set Auto-Lock to Never

This should keep it from shutting down randomly. If this does not help the problem then it is an issue with hardware.
