No sound without headphones? lg dp173g dvd

The audio was working fine. Then one day I used earphones, and audio was ok, but when I unplugged them there no longer was any sound from the speakers. Whenever I re plug any headphones there is sound, but I can't get it to play via the device itself, without the headphones.

SOURCE: sound is working but internal speaker is not working

Connecting headphones to the system will disabled the internal speakers until the headphone jack is disconnected, at which such time the internal speakers should function again.

If you disconnect the headphones and the internal speakers are not re-activated, then there may be damaged to the microswitch in the jack. (Try rebooting after the headphones are disconnected too)

SOURCE: headphone jack does not work, audio still plays from speakers

sound like the hardware supporting your headphones may have disconnected from its solder. This could have happened from dropping the notebook with the headphones plugged in and landing badly, or a strong or constant tug on the input. Otherwise, it could be a software configuration like you've tried

No sound/audio while playing tv.

Hello

If there is no audio output from your tv, either your TVs speaker or its audio output IC has damaged. You just check it with an earphone/headphone, if there is an earphone or headphone socket in front panel of your TV. If there is sound from the headphone/earphone, and not from the speaker, means the speaker has damaged. You have to replace it with same type and number. Just check your set's audio out socket, if any provided, connet it to any external audio sourse, like amplifier or so, and check whether there is sound output from it. If not, your Tv/combos' sound processing IC inside has some trouble.
most common fault is related to sound output IC or speaker itself. If speaker is found OK, go to the sound output section. This section can be easly located as speaker wire goes to that section, and follow it. Before replacing the IC, check its leads for any loose or bad soldering. i advice you to resolder all the terminals of that IC, by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge loose contacts between them. If this does not helps, replace the IC with an identical type and number. OK.

No sound

Hello
If picture is OK and there is no sound output from your tv, means either its speaker or the Sound output Ic is not working. The case of speaker fault can be easly detected without opening the TV. You just place your ear very near to the speaker side and switch on the TV by AC mains [not with remote control]. You may hear a "thumb" SOUND OR A "HUM" sound from it. If any one is there the internal speaker is working fine. The fault lies in audio output Ic stage. If there is no sound said above, speaker can be suspected. Befor confirming that the speaker is faulty, if your TV has an earphone or headphone jack in front, insert the earphone or headphone socket into it, and check whether there is any sound heard from it. If there is sound from headphone, means that the headphone socket is faulty, it does not bypass the sound to the speaker. When head phone is connected, the connection to the speaker will automatically cut of. When it is pulled out from the socket, the speaker connection will resume. If the changeover switch inside the earphone socket also show this kind of trouble. If the speaker inside is found faulty, unscrew it out of place after opening the TV, go for a same type and number, impedence and shape.
If there comes the above said "HUM" sound from the speaker, surely the Sound Output Ic is faulty. Replacing it will solve the probelm. Before replacing it, check it soldering points for any loose contact. It is best to resolder all suspected point is sound section before replacing the ic.
Note: In modern TVs there will be any trace of sound, without a video signal. Without video, sound is muted. ok.

The main speakers don't work. Headphone jacks work but if you unplug the headphones there is no sound

Make sure that you don't have mute on, and make sure your TV speakers are turn on. Go to menu and see if there is a way to turn your internal speakers on. If you can't fine anything , then your audio processor could be locked up, and if you unplug your TV for 30 MIN. it will reset the processor back to normal. Good luck and have a nice Day. If all that don't work, then your headphone might not be closing when removing the jack.

New Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300 Metal Detector No external sound

Most earphone jacks have two functions. One, to provide signal to a set of earphones or headphones. Two, to DISCONNECT the path that would be amplified and sent to loudspeakers. If that particular contact on the jack is bent or broken, when you UNPLUG the male jack, the connection is NOT re-established!

Hi.

Check if sound from laptop speaker is working.

If sound from laptop speaker is not working, go to control panel, check first the audio properties, and ensure that the sound is not muted.

On Vista you have to double click on the playback device to get properties.

97846c5.jpg

audio properties can also be explored starting the mixer by clicking the audio icon located near to the clock. In the example below the audio is muted:

In control panel also check if there is an installed audio device going to device manager.

If the audio adapter is not present , or if the audio adapter has a yellow mark on top, then you will need to reinstall the audio adapter drivers. The drivers are available online, on the laptop manufacturer's website.

On HP, Acer and several other brand models there is also a bag that can affect the use of headphones only.

In that case when you plug in the headphones, you get no sound, or the sound is still reproducedd through the laptop speakers.
The trick to fix this bug is restarting the laptop with the headphones plugged in twice, then removing headphones and restarting again.

If all the above does not work there may be an hardware fault, like a broken contact in the audio jack soldering joints.

Regards.

UMC 19in TV with built-in DVD player - model L19/7TCD

Try connecting earphones or headphones to the 3.5mm Headphone socket on the TV and check this works correctly, i.e hear TV when watching TV, hear DVD when watching a DVD etc.
If all is OK, purchase a 3.5mm Jack to L/R Audio/Phono cable. Connect the 3.5mm jack in to the headphone socket on the TV and connect the red/white phone ends to the 5.1 surround system.
It should solve it. SCART out is not always live in all sources so is not a reliable way to connect.

Can't hear audio

I found many references to this issue but I am not sure which may apply to your problem. Here is a set of steps to follow from another site: (Assumes Vista and Realtek)

  • Open Vista’s Control Panel (Window | Control Panel)
  • Open the Realtek Audio Manager (not “Sound”)
  • In the navigation bar in the far right, there is a little yellow folder icon. It is just below “Device advanced settings” and above “ANALOG”. Click the folder icon.
  • Click “Disable front panel jack detection” so that a yellow check mark shows up. Hit “OK”, and close the Realtek HD Audio Manager. That should re-enable the sound
