The audio was working fine. Then one day I used earphones, and audio was ok, but when I unplugged them there no longer was any sound from the speakers. Whenever I re plug any headphones there is sound, but I can't get it to play via the device itself, without the headphones.
SOURCE: no sound from headphone
There isnt any problem in your laptop. What on earth made you think there was? Your problem is the headfones are stuffed at least that is how you explained it throw them away and get some more??
SOURCE: I have a Fujitsu Lifebook
the plug size of your headphones is too small and no sound will come out. buy ones for a computer and use those.
SOURCE: Audio Jack not working on my notebook
Install the sound driver from your computer. You can find it on the homepage from your pc.Re-install it.If this not helps install the ac97 driver...
SOURCE: sound is working but internal speaker is not working
Connecting headphones to the system will disabled the internal speakers until the headphone jack is disconnected, at which such time the internal speakers should function again.
If you disconnect the headphones and the internal speakers are not re-activated, then there may be damaged to the microswitch in the jack. (Try rebooting after the headphones are disconnected too)
SOURCE: headphone jack does not work, audio still plays from speakers
sound like the hardware supporting your headphones may have disconnected from its solder. This could have happened from dropping the notebook with the headphones plugged in and landing badly, or a strong or constant tug on the input. Otherwise, it could be a software configuration like you've tried
