Just wondering if the crt bulb is the common cause of the screen to suddenly go black , that is that nothing appears when turned on ....it's only 4 years old ...worth replacing? ...thanks, ken
Is the lamp light on? Probably just need to replace the lamp. very easy to do. just remove the cover with a screw, unscrew the old lamp, pull it out, put in the new one. easy. cost you about a hundred dollars for the lamp. buy the name brand one. the generic ones burn out quickly and don't save you much money when you buy them.
Yes worth repairing but not a crt problem. the crt's are powered by a high voltage transformer and sometimes it's caps that goes bad and in turn knocks out the crt's. but they are ok, it's in the high voltage line.

I turned on the TV and have sound but no picture. The unit is about the same age as Ken's. Is it worth repairing? There was no indication that anything was going bad.
same ..ditto ..but...the power button flashes on and off whats that all about?
