The projector is 1 year old. Shuts itself off while running. First time I thought it was the bulb, but following replacement the same problem occurred. Now, on startup, it will shut down three or four times before finally starting up. Once running, it stays on for between 15 minutes and three hours. Projected image is perfect when running. The projector has not been moved, or damaged. The dust filter is cleaned regularly. Mounted upright, fan is on high setting as I live in a warm climate (Brasil), though I am not always certain the fan is actually running. Since qualified repair shop is likely out of the question here, I am hopeful I can fix this myself.
If you cant hear the fan running it isnt. While this unit has a quiet fan believe me you will know if its running during normal operation if you listen for it. This would explain your constant shutdownds.
I tried removing the lamp as soon as the unit shut down. this seems to work. i have had this problem occur a few times
Check the manual if you have it or on line. The symptom you are describing may be a built in warning that your bulb has reache 2700 hours. I think there is a reset process and then at 3000 it goes out. Spent today reading the manual because I have one and the red lamp light is blinking. I called Panasonic and found out the only place that services these units is in Leawood Kansas USA> The place is called Heartland Services.

I have experienced similar problem where the projector will not power on and the lamp light blinks, but I only have about 300 hours on the lamp. Turning the power on and off a few times may fix the problem sometimes. I called Panasonic a couple of times and they suggested sending the unit back for repair. I read on Amazon reviews and someone reported this problem is experienced by a lot of people and it has something to do with a defective iris, but Panasonic will not recall the unit.
I have just had the same fault repaired under my extended 4 year warranty.
The standby lamp was flickering on and off, as was the light, and when it was on the picture was OK. I suspect it was the iris as the lamp was not turning off, just the light. The project is just over 2 years old and only has 450 hours on the lamp. The service repairer (not Panasonic) told me they replaced a defective P module, what ever that is. Could be the power module, I really don't know. Anyway, it has fixed the problem.
