There should be an adjustment screw that looks like a "t" on the side of each carb. Screw it in 1/8th turn at a time to lean it out. Too much and engine detonation. I would recommend getting the retrofit kit to block off the oil tank and run mix fuel. Then there are no issues with too lean/rich, oil pump failure, plugged oil filter, broken or collapsed oil lines etc.
Question, if it is a question not a statement, is way to ambiguous for a decent answer. Much more info needed. The answer to this would be to simply remove the rope.
Change fluids, Check hull for bouyancy flaws, replace plugs, clean carbs or rebuild them. Most old engines get gummed up after long term storage if the fuel was not completely drained. Another possibility is that the bearings may be damaged from years of condensation and and drying. It happens sometimes and sometimes you just get lucky. Had a ducati paso 750 that blew the race on the bearings because they were deteriorated after years of storage in climate controlled space. Was fine then one day the bearings came apart in the engine and chewed it up.
