SOURCE: Sony VPL-CS5 menu will not display

Give input signal to the projector and see that if the menu appears or not on the screen.
if menu comes on the screen then put the backgroung color to blue, instaed of black.

if nothing comes on the screen, then the LCD panels are faulty.

The problem I can confirm is either one of two faults in the main power supply section. It is either one of the double diodes in the TIP type casing which has gone short, or the other most common is the main oscillator IC in the primary of the power supply. Please check the double diode first as the main IC is about twenty pounds very expensive. Please also note change the three capacitors in the primary power supply section whilst you are at it.kind regards John Williams www.jvsvisual.com engineer to the stars.

Sony VPL-CS5 Red LCD isn't working

If your Sony VPL-CS5 Red LCD isn't working, you may need to replace the lamp. You can purchase a replacement lamp from the manufacturer's website or from an authorized retailer. You may also need to check the power cord and connections to ensure that everything is properly connected. If the issue persists, you may need to contact Sony customer service for further assistance.

YELLOW SPOT ON SCREEN

There may be a dust fleck on one of the LCD screens inside your projector. I had a similar problem and managed to clean it. But it requires you to dissassemble the entire projector !!!. If you are not technical, don't do this yourself. !!!
