At first the Asus live update went through the process and reminded me to do the Aus live update-Bios. I was able access the site and wrote down all the information to do at a later date. The page I accessed read as follows..Bios setup screen and then load Default Bios Settings. Then listed 1-5 on what to do. I cannot find this site and reluctant to do anything. Now when the Asus liveupdate screen comes up,it freezers and will do nothing and I have to shut down the PC. My computer is extreamly slow. Can you solve this please. Regards,Laurel Handley
You are welcome... you can rate my solution if you like... thanks
You can download the updates from Asus to a memory stick (USB flash drive) and install them through the bios. When I do a Bios update I prefer to do them through the BIOS itself at boot up.If you boot into the bios by pressing delete key at sys start-up.
then you can arrow over to the flash utility and select the USB drive from there to upgrade..
Here is a HOW -to for you..

Asus A7C series notebook. Asus live update tells me to update but when I press ok it comes up...fail to connect to Asus web server. There is obviously a problem somewhere and was wondering if this can be fixed by me or do I have to get a computer expert to sort it out. PC has slowed down considerably.Thank you for trying to sort out....your confused!! sorry, but I'm way ahead!!

will detail problems here. All problems started with trying to download new msn messenger. At first microsoft said my router was conflicting with windows live messenger.Msn said to go into internet options-security-internet-active scripting, double click on enable, then java applets, double click enable. This resulted in further problems.Spybot icon in bottom tool bar comes up with numbers...process blacklisted....known ratings available.dont know what that means. Internet security warning....'When you send info to the net it might be possable for others to see that info'. Thats scary! Very slow to shut down PC...spybot s/d window comes up stating this programe is not responding. Is there any solution to this problem or should I just give up?

Thaks for all your help
good morning
ok the link you want is
http://support.asus.com/download/downloa...
don't panic too much if that link doesn't work properly.... if you want... add me to your msn and i'll help you get to the site.. just easier that way ... add @hotmail.com to the end of my user name.
now i might add to this.... if your computer works.... .leave the bios alone as you can end up making it into a paperweight without too much effort.
download any drivers (or bios) there and update your computer... i'm uncertain why it will not connect properly but if there is a utility there for that updater... download and install it again as the files may have become currupt.
ok... couple more things when you get up.... look on the bottom of that laptop.... what is the letter after a7.... a b c etc. and what operating system is on it ?
