I lost my zipper foot for my simplicity quilter's classic sw240 and I can't seem to find a replacement one anywhere

You can try a 'hard reboot' of the software by unplugging the machine while it is turned on, wait about a minute, then plug in and restart the machine. This is a way to make the software do a self-diagnostic check and possibly give you an error code or (best case scenario) cause the machine to start working properly again.
If this does not work you probably need an adjustment by a technician.

There should be a hole across the back of the walking foot (penetrates the walking foot usually from right to left, although some feet will have 2 guides--one for left to right, the other left to right) where the bar mounts and a screw to tighten and hold it in place.

Is it really threaded correctly? Is the needle, old, blunt,or slightly bent? Are the thread and needle compatible with the material? :)
