Pictures from macro mode are overexposed even i turned the exposure compensation to -2.
I also having this problem white horizontal lines ...any solution?

Have the same problem here. I found the problem caused by the broken ribbon cable that connecting the lens shutter, lens cover motor to the mainboard of the camera. No luck finding the replacement part so far. If anyone know where to get the part please post it here. Thanks.

I'm not an expert on these cameras, but I have had the same problem with the Canon Powershot A460. (images look overexposed with horizontal lines appearing in the images). I think this is probably a sensor problem. It might be caused by moisture getting in the camera, dropping the camera, or other factors, like static electricity or simply the age of the camera. I'm guessing that it would be expensive to repair. I notice on my camera that the video function seems to work fine. The video uses a low-resolution setting. So I took a test still picture using the low resolution setting "S" instead of M1, M2 or L. My test looks pretty good. So rather than throwing the camera away, I am likely to save it for low-resolution pictures and video use.
