Driver side interior door handle stuck open (not flush with door)

If I am remembering correctly, the switch is part of the latch. Each door has its own switch to turn on the interior light, and it sounds like the switch in the driver's door latch is either stuck or junk. If it has to be replaced it is very simple to remove for those that know how, but a nightmare for those that don't. The exterior handle has to be removed to release the pull-cord to the latch, interior trim panel and vapor barrier has to come off. Electrical harness, lock rod, interior handle rod, all have to be removed. Now the latch. Then it all has to go back together, and most importantly, it all has to work. I'm not saying it's not possible. I'm saying that it can ruin your day and your wallet if something goes wrong.

Try replacing the unlock switch on door

Door pins are a common failure on that series of Blazer/S10's. Also, another point of contention that the door faces is a sticky latch. Basically, the door latch re-latches itself and when you shut the door into the catch, it slams into it and bounces off. An easy fix is a 3 part cocktail of brake parts cleaner. Open and shut the latch with a screw driver acting as the catch and your interior door handle a few times. P'Blaster, open and shut the door a few times with the screwdriver acting as the catch. Finally, a good shot of white lithium grease. Open and shut the door with a screwdriver as the catch several times. Once you feel it is un-stuck, actually close and open the door several times. If you notice the door rising every time it catches, you MUST replace the door pins (cheap fix). If the door still has issues, replace the door latch (and since you're in there, do some PM and replace the actuator as well).

Have an 05 Chevy Colorado doing the same thing. Any help?

If you look at the other doors that will open you will notice a lever on the side of the latch it will release the latch. with the door open flip the latch and open it so you can see how it works. Also you can take the door panel partly loose. You will not get all the screws out. You can get enough out to pull the door panel out and reach into the door, pull the rod from the door handle and open it. Once the door is open there is a torque bit screw in the end of the door that holds the outside door handle on take it out, pull the door handle out and you will find a pin out or broke in the door handle. Take a handle on the door that works so you can see the difference. To do the back door on a 4 door you have to take out the interior panel that the top holder of the seat belt goes through to get to the screws in the end of the door panel just to get the interior door panel off to reach in. You can replace the rool pin with a screw, but be sure it's tight because it will back itself out and you'll have to do it all again. Been there and done that. Ha Ha. use a large flat blade screwdriver or equivalent to pry latch in door up while holding the outside handle up as if to open door.

The rear window has to be completely down in order to move the tailgate! You should be happy that your window is stuck up, unlike mine which is stuck all the way down! I have to completly take apart my tailgate!! If you want to try a trick to get the rear window down, my bronco has a rear window switch right next to the headlight knob, take the 2 purple wires on that window switch, and cross them, if your motor still works and if the wires are good, that should make the window go down!!! good luck, hope that helps!
