Clicking noise on gas stove

The noise is the same as when you are putting on the burner and then the noise goes away once the flame is on. I took the knob off of the stove front to clean behind it and then moved the piece of plastic that sits behind the knob (for decoration), that's when the noice stated. Also, all 4 burners have a little "fire" thing popping (like when you first put the fire on). The noise is annoying to say the least. I do not smell any gas leaking.
What damage did I do to my stove????
It's a Jenn-air kitchen range that slides in. Model#FCG20510W

I am having the same problem. It is the igniter going off. My issue is that it is going off every 3-5 seconds, in use or not. Not sure how to fix the problem. I unplug the power cord for the time being.

I hope someone can answer this post.

SOURCE: Burner Problem

it appears that the air intake intake is incorrectly set or you have the incorrect gas jets fitted to the product. Regards Engineer

SOURCE: Dirty flames

You have a problem with either air supply or with the burner getting dirty.  Clean out throughly with solvent type cleaners...no abrasives.  You should only have blue flames.

So when I try to light one burner - it lights up. After 20-30 seconds, there is stlll a clicking sound then the burner goes off. I cannot figure this out, can anyone help? Really appreciate it. Thanks

It probably has a flame failure device..
This is to cut off the gas if the flame goes out..
When you light the burner, the flame heats a sensor which keeps the gas on, if this is faulty, the gas will go out.

Stoves newhome gg700 grill flame goes out if lid is closed

I had a stove in my camper that did this. The answer was to let the flame burn for a few minutes BEFORE closing the door. I think the original problem is that there is too much gas flowing to the burner and it literally blows itself out, until you get everything heated up and working. The question, I think, is there a way to turn down the gas pressure??

Where is the pilotlight on a ge xl44 gas stove I belive it is in the door under the oven well I turned the gas on and stuck a flame down there and nothen took off is there a certian place to put the flame....

In general lets be clear. The OVEN pilot is located under the oven door at the top of the Broiler. It is a small piece of metal just before the GAS safety Valve which acts on temperature so gas won't flow unless Pilot is lit,That's the OVEN PILOT.The stove's RANGE is the top burners where you heat Pots and Pans.It has either 2 Pilot lights that connect the burners to the Flame they are under the Range Top.Newer Models use electronic ignitions no flame. Please note if you had your stove/oven disconected or Gas off when you turn it back on there will be air in the line that needs to escape before you light. This is why in NYC when Utility Co.works on steet main the MUST re-light your appliances.Be Careful with Gas.Good Luck.

Installed stove, no flames on burners?

It may still have air in the system, turn on one burner on and allow the gas to flow with a lighter in the path of the gas see if the gas lights of at least explodes I mean until it goes Poof, once it does that if it does not light then pull the top off the stove and adjust the vents on the pipes to focus the flames and how much air is blended in with the gas, also turn the burner so that the holes are half way open, I am not sue about your stove but most have an adjustment by turning the burner 1/4 of a turn to change the flame characteristics. if this does not help post here and I will see what else I can find out on your stove. I need the modle of the stove and the regulator number where the gas hooks up.

Igniter continuously clicks

I had this problem. It was caused by the burner "thinking" the flame had turned off--it was clicking because it was sparking to re-start the flame from the gas. I was able to fix it by tightening a flat, thin nut at the top of the burner.

Clicking noise on cooktop even when all burners ignite

I have a viking gas cooktop. The ignitor on one of my front burners wouldn't stop clicking even after the flame ignited. I swapped that ignitor with the ignitor from a back burner, expecting that the problem was with the ignitor and that the back burner would start to click incessantly, but at least I'd have my favorite front burner for use. Instead, the front burner was then only clicking 50% of the time and the back burner was fine, suggesting the problem was related to the burner not the ignitor. I pulled the front ignitor a bit away from the burner and now it is working normally. Hope this helps.
