I have tried everything I can to get the intercom to work and it just doesn't. Is there a setting I might have missed? The intercom indicator light won't even come on and the documentation refers to a intercom/intercom log buttom, which isn't on my phone. Any suggestions? Diane

Either you're not at ext 11 or you are pressing the RIGHT intercom button. It's FEAT 00 LIC LIC (where LIC is left intercom). If it doesn't work, try the same code from Ext 10. Also, you have to have an 18 or 34 button display set.
Do you by chance have a DSS cordless phone that is interfering? Normally these should work well up to over a hundred feet for sure. Try swapping channels on the intercom units and keep away from metal (Like a refrigerator) and motors.

It sounds like the HFAI button on most of the sets is turned off. the HFAI (hands free answer intercom) button is located to the right of the SPKR key. With the handset down press the HFAI button. The green light next to it should light indicating that it is active. If the power goes out or if the phone is unplugged it will return to HFAI off status. hope that helps.
1 No DSL on the line
2. Set the intercom extension of the second phone
By default, both have been assigned ext 11. The intercom uses the same frequencies as a DSL line to transmit, so that could be the noise you are hearing.
Page 23 tells you how to set the intercom extension, and the DSL warning is almost at the bottom of every page from 18-22.
Thats a common "problem", but its easy to fix. The Intercom lights flashing like that is normal and they will continue to do so until you "assign" the phone its intercom number. If you have more than one of these phones, go to your other phones, lift the handset and see what intercom number lights on that phone when you do so(the lights/buttons that are flashing). Notate which intercom number that is and move to the next phone. Once you have notated the other intercom numbers go back to the phone you wish to program and push PROGRAM , then push the touch tone key of which intercom number you wish to assign the phone (ie. 1 2 3, etc.), then push MEMORY. That should do it, and if you need replacements their on Amazon. Good Luck
Each telephone must be connected to line 1 and line 2 for proper operation. The remaining lines 3 and 4 may — or may not — be connected to each station as you desire. First plug in the battery, then the phone lines (1 & 2 are mandatory), and third the power cord. If your intercome LED is blinking red and green, then press: STORE IN, followed by "INTERCOM" followed by a free intercom# (i.e., any of the memory buttons 1 through 16 not already assigned to another telephone set. Then wait for the phone to go through its initiation sequence during which it searches each of the four possible lines. After that concludes, you should get dial tone on your active lines. :-) Marco
