Hey, this happened to me too. what you have to do is put it in standby mode, then press and hold the eject and stop button on the actual dvd player, the remote wont work doing this. this is how you can unlock and lock the dvds into the dvd player. why this is a feature jvc thought this needed im not exactly sure, but thats how you fix it.

Have the dvd player on, not in standby. Then hold down 'source' for 5 secs on the dvd player, and the message un-lock should appear, then your away!

Lock

Hi there,

The disc lock function has been activated on your JVC XV-N320, when in this mode the tray cannot be opened or closed.

If you press the 'eject' button whilst pressing down the 'stop' button on the machine in standby mode the disc lock will deactivate. To turn it back on you follow the same procedure. This is also described in the user manual for this model of TV umder trouble shooting on page 13.

Hope this helps,

James

WHATS THE HACKING CODE FOR MY JVC XV-N322 DVD PLAYER

Try this link: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/jvc-xv-n322s/5424#30023
1. When "REGION CODE ERROR" shows on screen after you've input your wrong-region DVD you push "ON SCREEN".

2. When the DVD-menu is showing push "ON SCREEN" again and another DVD-menu will appear.

3. Move the arrow over to the clock and press enter. The menu asks for "TIME" and you write 0:00:00 and push enter.

4. You will now see the menu for the movie. Remove the DVD-menu by pushing "ON SCREEN" once. You can now watch the movie.

''Bad disc'' error when any disc loaded in JVC XV-N670B DVD Player

There may be a connection to the problem, but it sounds like the laser assembly may need to be replaced as well as/or the mpeg printed circuit board(the printed circuit board) attatched to the laser assy. Good Luck.

I have a xv n330 dvd player and it says lock when I try to take out the dvd in the player and it says lock.

When you press the eject botton while pressing down the stop botton on the unit in
standby mode, the tray lock function is activated. The disc tray
cannot be opened or closed in this status. To release this
status, press the eject botton while pressing down the stop botton on the unit in standby
mode.

LOCK displayed on the dvd player

Though it may be different for different models, the JVC XV-N40 DVD Player LOCK can be disengaged (and engaged) by pressing the [EJECT] button while holding-down the [STOP] button. Yes, it's that simple but I had to search online to find it too. The XV-N212 did not appear on JVC's website when I looked for it there.

Here's a link to the material that coves with the player in the box:
