Cant print from workstations

I have a HP Laserjet P3005 hooked to a Print server DP301U and i have problems printing from the workstations. the print job from the work station is sent to the print server but it seems that the print server doesnt send the print job to the printer, and the printer status in the print server coontlol panel says "printing" y made a test by instaling an old lexmark laser printer and had no problems with it. the workstations are running under win xp , thx

i try that and get the same results...update....after several tests i manage to print from the work station, but not in a normal way.i did the following procedure: 1.- first i open a document(word excel, etc) send a print...does not print....2.- reset the print server without closing the office application...3.- send the print again and... voila! i can print...the bad issue is that if i close the application and open it again i have to do the same procedure described above.. funny isn't it.

I have configured the USB printer HP 1020 Plus in DP-301U print server.
Initially while configuring in tcp/ip port, it was printing, but when I switch off the printer and switch ON. The job is not printing at all & its not in the queue.

But when I check in printer folder, the job assigned and disappear.

    Please assist me.

I got my dp-301u to work fine with my hp1020 on 2 different workstations with the following steps.

1. install printer locally via usb and test.
2. create a second printer as per the dlink manual creating a port. don't worry about the name as we will delete it.
3. once created go into the properties of the 2nd printer and change the port to something local - anything will do to free up the port.
4. go into the properties of the printer that was created in step 1. and change the port to that of the print server.
5. test print. should work fine.

cheers!!

Try changing the driver for your HP LJP3005 on your XP machine. Use it with the HP LJ Series II driver.

Print both sides using hp laserjet P3005

I assume that printer is perfectly installed and
for both side printing,

go to
contro panner ->printer and faxes->right click on printer->select properties->at bottom click on preferences -> choose "duplex printing".

if you cannot duplex printing here need to install duplex printing.

Network Printing Issue. I'm running 2008 Domain Controller 2003 File and Print Server. Cisco 3560G switches No 3rd Party print management software User workstations are all Windows Xp Pro SP2 Printers are...

DNS errors then? can you map to the printer via hostname too? Are you sure you're not using SP3? When we upgraded to SP3, we had to use the new drivers. Try new drivers.Have you tried just rebuilding your print server? try sharing the printer off your computer in the data center and try t print to that. When you ping the data center from the user's computer... what is the delay?

Network printer P3005 not printing

When the problem arises, can you ping the printer from a workstation? Can you access the web management page (by typing the ip adress in your browser's adress bar) If you got one, you can also try to place a Jet Direct network card in the printer, in case your onboard network adapter is defective. I would start with this, good luck!

Documents not printing

Hi How to check the print server is in the wireless network or not!! Check under the Router Setup page Router's ip address... Check if you are able to ping the Print Server Ip address....Since it the router will assign a ip address from DHCP range.. If you are able to ping the router's ip address and the print server ip address then the print server is in the Wireless LAN... Try the following steps. 1. Go to run and type "cmd" press enter 2. type ipconfig. 3. Check the range of ip address...if its 192.168.0.XX 4. Try pinging that ip address.. 5. If able to ping the router and print server.. Then the wireless network is fine... Somehow some of the printer's don't work with some of the print servers.. Check if D-link does support the printer or not!!!! for this particular model of the router...
