If your laptop has a good working installed operating system, then you can download Belarc advisor (www.belarc.com), run it and check the product key(s) installed in your laptop.

Check AC Adapter for voltage output using multi-meter. If Adapter is GOOD, remove battery and try again. Does fan run? Does screen show Flash Screen? Please advise in detail.

most likely a loose connection if it is flickering.. if there are red squiggly lines usually means driver issue.. and if there are blue banding lines, typically means the chip is overheating/desoldering.

when you start up laptop look at bottom of screen it should tell you what to press to enter bios, you will have to be quick because it doesn't stay on long. If this fails try F1 or F2 or delete after start up.(just keep pressing the key after you turn it on)

the first link has drivers for vista the second for Xp..

why you want the old model now latest and best keyboard from different maker available i suggest logitech brand which may you see at "http://www.logitech.com/en-in/keyboards/keyboards"
