HP Officejet 5510 error "Remove & check color cartridge

Can't get rid of the above message on my HP Officejet 5510 All-in-one Printer. Have tried varios internet solutions including unplugging and pressing # 6 etc. The cartridge ink level is good.
Is there a way to override the above error message.
Thanks

I have an HP Officejet 6310 AIO and until today all was fine except low on black ink (#98). I went out and purchased a new HP #98 ink cartridge and then I removed the empty black cartridge and replaced it with the new one. Upon closing the lid I all of a sudden get a message that won't go away indicating that my color tri-ink (#95) cartridge is installed wrong. I have NUMEROUS times taken it out and put it back in, cleaned the head, cleaned the connection contacts, tried putting the other empty black cartridge back in... nothing helps. It was FINE until I changed the black cartridge and it has just over 25% of ink in it according to the ink monitor before I swapped out the black. Any ideas before I have to contact HP?

1. Remove all cartridges and turn off printer
2. Unplug printer and wait one minute
3. hold down # and 9 while plugging power cord back in.
4. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button.

When the error message popped up on my computer there was an option for tech support. I clicked on that. I went to the HP website. then found my way to tech support. I clicked on what printer I had and it set me up with a chat session.
The person helped me and it is now fixed.
I pressed Setup then 6 then okay
then after that was done I pressed setup then 6 then 2 and okay
now it's fixed...
I hope that this might have helped!

HP Photosmart C4140 error message won't go away Remove and check color cartridge. I have done this and unplugged, checked both color and black cartridges...won't go away.

hey, sometimes there are faulty cartridges. i use to got some brand new and original from the shop and not working.. so try it with some old cartridge if you have.. you can also try to remove the cartridge and clean/wipe the contacts on the cartridge side and on the printer side (turn of the printer for safety)

I have a HP officejet 5510. I just put in a new HP cartridge

Like any other mass-produced parts, there will be some defective printer cartridges and it sounds like you have one. Since the first cartridge worked there's no reason to suspect a printer problem. I would suggest taking the cartridge back to the store where you purchased it and explain the situation. Since dud parts go back to the manufacturer, maybe they will exchange it for you as defective.

HP 5510 OfficeJet - error message "Remove & check color cart"

check all areas for any paper jam, also check the feed roller in the paper trays if the roller are slick with paper dust, clean them and then reinstall the paper. Sounds like a paper sensor is not been cleared. then the error message, should go away on reboot.

"remove and check cartridge" error message

I resolved the "remove and check cartridge" issue after reading the instructions at the above address. Most importantly, I replaced both cartridges and the problem was resolved.
The color cartridge appeared to be the issue. It had been in for months and used infrequently.
