Just got this coffee maker and there is a remarkable about of condensation that builds up in the grinder after brewing. It will require a lot of cleaning to maintain- is this normal? I also have to add almost twice as much beans to get the strength I like as I did with my OLD "Mr Coffee". Any ideas would be much appreciated.
The condensation is normal, not just with this Cuisinart Grind n Brew, but with ALL Cuisinart Grind n Brews - because of this, you will really need to clean it after every use if you want the grinder portion to last long. As far as the bean amt - Cuisinart bases it's reccomendations on a smaller-than-normal coffee cup size of 5 ozs or so. Plus, the condensation, as you mentioned, will prevent a certain portion of the grinds from flowing to the brew/filter basket. Add more beans or less water to make a stronger cup.

We have this model and it seems you could play around with darker roast beans for a stronger flavor, say a dark French roast. You can also adjust the water temp settings on the pot. There are instructions in the user manual for this.
