If it has a SD card you can use a USB adapter to avoid having to hook up the camera directly. If it has only internal memory, you will need to download the software from the Olympus site and have the correct cable. If running windows, there are default programs like windows photo gallery etc
They can be purchases at Walmart, Kmart, Radio Shack, etc. They are pretty generic...the plug that goes into your camera is the only difference...take your camera with you to get the correct size.
Usually the usb cable only provides the data signals to it. If you are using a 4 pin usb cable then the power isn't going to the cable and it won't charge it.
