Gbd307 The fan on my GBD307PRB00 fan either makes a bunch of noise or a humming sound (likely from a siezed up fan motor). The convection fan at the back works fine. Where is this fan located and how do I replace it? It sounds like the buzzing noise is coming from the left side between the two ovens but everything I have read indicated the fan is at the top?

SOURCE: How do I get into

There are different fuses, a fuse is located on control assembly board, a thermal fuse is accessible removing a panel at the back of the oven, or inside the oven.

Enter here to find assembly diagrams and parts for your model.

Contact the seller by phone if part is not listed on the website.

SOURCE: noise from fan when electric oven is first turned on

The fans are not normally repairable, but there is no problem obtaining replacements.
On a double oven, there are usually 2 fans fitted.
There is an external cooling fan usually fitted on the top of the oven, you would have to remove the top cover of oven to access it, and possibly the rear panel as well.
Then there is the fan fitted in the main oven compartment.
If you open the oven door as it is working, you should be able to determine if it is the fan oven or the external cooling fan that is the cause of the problem.
If you determine it is the fan in the oven that is noisy, then to undo the fan blade assy, you have unscrew the nut clockwise to remove it. as opposed to the normal way of undoing a nut.
Please rate my fixya solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Series double oven electric model GBD307-PDQ309

Usually this is a touchpad and control panel fault but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance.

With the model number of the oven we could look up the code and be more specific about the problem.

SOURCE: OVEN MAKES A LOUD NOISE WHEN IT IS TURNED ON

This indigates worn or tight fan motor bearings, if it is a built in oven , then it could have an external cooling fan in addition to the oven fan, so you will have to determine which one it is.
Usually it means having to replace the offending fan motor, as lubricating only provides a short term solution.
Hope this helps.

My convection oven fan won't spin, but I can hear the motor is working. It seems stuck, any ideas?

If the shaft is spinning, then blade has come loose from shaft. If it’s just humming but shaft not spinning, replace fan motor.

I have a Bosch white single wall oven HBL54AUC. It is very loud and I don't know why. It works...just too loud. Any suggestions? Linda :

Good morning Linda, the noise you're hearing is probably the cooling fan with a bad bearing. That would be the only moving part that would make noise. It's a pain in the neck to get to but fairly easy to swap out. Definitely easier with two people. Or it could be a bad bearing on the convection fan motor. Set it to temp and then open the door once it starts to heat, That will cut power to convection fan and noise will stop.Hope that helps.

Hobart convection oven

You either have something hitting the convection blower wheel or the bearings in the convection motor are shot.

Frigidaire Oven making vibration noise when Pre-Heating or Convection cooking. Only notice when convection fan is running.

This usually is caused by a bad convection fan motor. This is something that you should have a technician replace, but ask for a price quote first. Fairly expensive to fix and usually very complicated to get at. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Kitchen wall oven there is a buzzing sound when in the convection bake cycle

You don't tell the age of the oven... but the convection fan motor bearing is stressed by the heat of the oven.... and over time can cause all sorts of noises.

You may want to place a small amount of WD-40 on the convection fan motor bearing... just to confirm it as the problem/

Best to replace the motor if it is the problem..

I have an electrolux icon double wall oven. I turned on the self-clean function for 3hrs and it making a very loud noise during the cleaning process. Is that normal?

yes, if the humming is not the loud sound then the fan may need some lubrication or if it is tripping the circuit it will need replacing , but if it seems like it is a viberating noise from the fan , then it could be that its bearings are bad , but the whole fan motor would still need to be replaced , but if it sounds like it just may be a loose fan motor , then tightening up the screws on the motor would stop the vibrating sound and or the fan blades from scraping metal( another sound you may be hearing )
