Laptop's clock runs slow.

The clock on my laptop sometimes runs for several days and then all of a sudden, I look and it's several minutes slow. I regularly put it in hybrid mode, but I haven't really noted any connection with that. Any thoughts?

I've owned it almost three years.
No; I haven't checked the BIOS date & time settings. I don't know how to do that or what to look for. What would that do?

How long have you owned the laptop?

Have you checked the BIOS date & time settings?

A near flat battery will cause the laptop to lose the time and date even if you change the BISO time and date, it will still lose time.
To get into the BIOS setup press F2 as you boot up the laptop.
Check the various settings and you will get to the time and date setting, follow the screen instructions to set the time and date.
I suggest you get a new battery installed before you change the time and date.

My inspiron 1545 shows "time

Unusual, but I would look to the cmos battery- Sometimes , if the small battery in the laptop runs down, the sytem time will be wrong, and Windows will not boot if that happens. It is possible that if you leave the charger connected for several hours- sometimes a whole day, the cmos battery will re-charge- unfortunately there is always a chance that it will not. If it does not then if this model has a detatchable cmos battery, they can be replaced-i

the clock is not running slow. Double click your clock. You will see three tabs: Date&time, Time Zone, Internet Time.
click internet time and you will see tick mark on internet. remove it by clicking on it
If grayed out , reset your time and date

2008 Pathfinder LE clock runs fast

No solution yet... mine keeps running slow - supposedly there is a disc that the dealer can put into the CD player to fix some clock problems, otherwise you have to take out the whole unit & replace it, is what I'm told - people on the phone keep ducking the question & directing me to a dealer 500 miles away.

Watch erratic. Slows suddenly between days of working well.

Sounds like a failing battery to me. Its very common for a watch to loose time when battery needs to be changed.

My laptop freezes often and clock stops running

i would recommend a fresh install of windows and if that doesn't solve your problem then check that your processor isn't loose and while you check inside the laptop give it a good hoovering to get rid of any dust. i think maybe it freezes because it gets too hot so i would recommend hoovering inside and buying a laptop cooling platform off ebay (fans that the laptop sits on.

I inherited a grandfather clock which runs slow

You have to adjust the bob on pendulum. If the clock is slow, the bob on the rod must be pushed up. If the clock is fast, the bob must be pushed down. Do adjustments bit by bit, day by day till the clock is keeping time. If all this does not work, you may need to replace suspension spring (if there is any). If there are no suspension spring, the clock may need proffessional attention.

Hi,

Please get your BIOS-CMOS battery changed asap (symptoms seems like this, you may confirm with your laptop vendor)

One question as well, have you installed any utility to overclock your processor or any related thing.

Thanks.
