This sounds like a defective Sony CCD issue. If so, Sony will fix your Minolta camera for free (with free shipping) regardless of warranty. You need to do this before March 31, 2008 so get going! See this link:

I have only used the camera once and when i turn it on the screen is pink and the photos are pink. What can i do to fix this or what is the problem?

If you happened to expose the camera to bright sunlight it could have damaged the CCD which is the image sensor in the camera. So keep aside after removing battery for a while and switch on .
If the pink shade comes on the you can claim for warranty on the camera as it is new one.

Dimage a1 switches on, can view photos on play back but wont show image in view finder or rear screen or take photographs

Hi prune_muffin, my Konica Minolta A1 camera failed during 2007 with those exact symptoms. The sensor used in the A1 and many other cameras/camcorders of that vintage were made by Sony and have been recognised as subject to failure due to an Integrated Circuit packaging failure. Sony bought the KM company and from April 2006 have aranged support for KM products. Sony have generously offered to repair failed cameras of that era, at no charge, when the failure is due to a failed Sony sensor. My camera was repaired by the appointed Australian service company and returned within 3 weeks - I only paid the postage to send it in for repair.
You should make enquiries re your camera problem with the Sony Camera Support Center in your location.

Pink and Black in natural light

It sounds like the light sensor on the camera is malfunctioning. Try cleaning the sensor. If the senor doesn't work at all it will not be able to tell when the camera is operationg in bright light. Kind of like having your eyes dialated and walking outside on a sunny day.

Pink in the photos

maybe you use wrong white balance, test auto and manual white balance; if there is pink again then your camera have hard ware problem (CCD for exaple). I hope this helps...

Konica minolta dimage a1

Sounds like a CCD fault. Many A1 users, including myself, have had this. Allegedly, Sony, who made and fitted the CCD sensors, had a manufacturing "issue" at the time. Many A1s were recalled and others, including mine, have been successfully repaired free of charge by Sony on request. I suggest that you contact your vendor or a local repair shop to discover whether this service is (still?) available in your location. It's well worth the effort as this is a fine camera. Good luck.

Pink tint when shhoting in bright sunlight

Sane problem with C713, the view screen is dark and gives focus warning, then the pics come out with a pink tint. I believe it is the sensor or shutter problem. Can't get any solutions either.
