Predictive text function on Nokia 1600

For some reason the predictive text function on my phone isn't working any more. It no longer recognises very common words [like "see", "were" and "the"] and tries to replace them with random letters like "qfd". Any advice greatly appreciated, it's doing my head in. Have done the usual technophobe solutions to it, including switching it on and off, taking the battery out and hitting it.

Predictive text is off & I cannot find an option to turn it back on. I have tried everything. When I go to the predictive text & the instructions, it states to use the # key, but that doesn't work. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I figured it out. Default to settings didn't help. I had to go to change the language & put it back to English, which restored predictive text.

Turn off predictive text nokia

Most Nokia handsets have a button on the keyboard to do this.
Try looking for a button that shows "T9" on that.
Long press it, and the predictive text mode will be toggled.

When I text I get an underline and I can't get anything but the first letter of a 3 letter set on the keys

You must disable your Predictive text option, T9® predictive text mode allows you to type words with only one keystroke per letter, and the phone interprets what word you want. For example, to type the, press 8, 4, 3. To enable/disable T9® predictive text mode, select Options. Scroll to and select Prediction on or off.

I cant switch predictive text on

Hi,

For you to switch to predictive text or T9, just go to your "Text Message" window, when on that application window please select on your "options" button on your cell phone.

You'll have a pop up with scroll options that would either say 'predictive text', just ok the T9 or "Predictive Text" option and you would be able to have predictive text switched on.
