Red light doesn't come on ~ Microsoft optical notebook mouse 3000

Red light isn't coming on the Mouse. I haven't used this mouse for a while, so I made sure it has a new battery. The receiver's green light is working fine. I pushed the "connect" button on both the receiver and the mouse, just to cover all my bases. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Look for a small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed at the bottom of mouse. There are two possibilities for turning on the red light, one is that said button is stuck,if that is the case push it down a couple of times and see if the red light goes on, the other is that the button is broken at it's base. Also check that battery contacts are clean and hold it firmly. Good luck!!! Chawah.

Microsoft Notebook optical mouse 3000 not working

Have you tried changing the port in which the USB wireless receiver is plugged?

Or is the receiver internal to the notebook?

If the receiver is internal, try updating the drivers for your machine by navigating to the manufacturer's support site.

If you plug a wired mouse into the machine what happens? If you get the same result, it may indicate a problem with the USB settings on your machine. I would, again, suggest updating the drivers for your machine.

If that's the case, try plugging another USB device into the machine and see if it works properly.

If none of those options provide results, I recommend you return the mouse for a refund or a replacement, especially if you have the receipt.

I hope I was able to help you. Good luck!

Most devices last a long time. Have you tried re-installing the software for the keyboard & Mouse> Also go to microsoft download center and get the latest drivers for you setup. Make sure when you do, choose the right Operating System driver for your Keyboard & Mouse. Hope this helps. Bud
