Trunk release and fuel door release buttons do not work

It all started with the trunk release button, followed by the fuel door release button.

The trunk never opened with key. not sure if I need a special trunk key or not.

The trunk will not open when I pull the trunk release on the floor. The release lever and cable are very loose. It looks like the release cable is stretched out.

What can I do? Is there a trunk release in the glove box?

Thanks.

SOURCE: trunk release and fuel door release buttons do not work

cable knocked loose and key wouldn't work if it did previously. last option, obtain acess from back passenger seat and pull aux cable or force lock open, as far as the key issue, call a locksmith

How do I open stuck fuel door on 1998 lincoln mrk 8

There is another release in the right rear passenger side of the trunk. A little WD-40 on the latch will help.

The fuel door in my car would not open had to pop it open how do i fix it so the button will work again

usually they are opened via cable. you'll have to trace the cable and replace it, if it's broke. Sometimes you just need to lubricate the lever where you activate the door.

Fuel door and truck release fuse

I had the same problem last fall and had my mechanic check all fuses, he could not find the problem. Later my son was in the glove box and then I remembered the valet button disables the trunk and gas door so the person parking your car cannot snoop in your trunk or get to your gas cap. push the valet button in the glove box and see if you can release the trunk and gas door. Hope this works for you, it can be a pain opening the trunk every time you want to put gas in the car....good luck...........

Petrol Fuel Cap door won't open

I had the same problem. Pressing the fuel door unlock button did not work, and I couldn't find any emergency release in the cargo/trunk area. Eventually, I clicked the Lock / Unlock button on the key fob a couple of times and tried again, this time holding the fuel door release button for 1-2 seconds, and it worked. I then sprayed some door lock lubricant into the fuel door lock in case there was something sticking in the mechanism. Don't know if this truly "fixed" the problem, but it's working now.
