We have a phone extension that will ring 3 or 4 times and then forward to another internal extension. How can I cancel that forward, and send an unanswered call to voice mail?

Feature **266344, PW: 23646, Press top arrow until you can enter your ext. Press the top arrow again until you see "Fwd no answer" and press top arrow again until you see "Fwd to: None" and choose change. Enter your VM box. Press the bottom arrow (down) on right and see "Forward Delay" and change that number then press rls.

It sounds like you are using a voicemail service from a provider, meaning you did not buy the voicemail system with the phone system. If you confirm, I can tell you how to fix this.

Ok, do you know how to get into system programming?
If you do:
-> first dial FEATURE 985 this will give you the DN(Extn) for the voicemail
-> get into programming
-> TERMINALS&SETS enter and put in the extn that is giving you issues
-> then under CAPABILITIES look for FWD NO ANSWER and put in the DN of the voicemail you saw with the Feature 985
-> hit next for the number of rings you want it to ring before going to voicemail
-> hit next and you can now RLS to back out of programming.
Voila, that set will now goto voicemail.

Sounds like the main phone(221?) has an answer dn key on it.
To delete the answer dn key you need to enter programming by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.
The screen should say TERMINALS&SETS. The 4 top line/feature keys are now used for programming.
At the terminals&sets prompt, press the show key (top right arrow). The display should now ask for an extension number. Enter extension number you wantdelete the answer dn key from.i.e. if entension 223 is also ringing on 221 enter 221.
Press the show key (top right arrow)
The display should sat LINE ACCESS
Press the show key (top right arrow) .
The display should say LINE ASSIGNMENT.
Press the next key (bottom right arrow) 4 times .
The display say ANSWER DNs.
press the show key (top right arrow)..
The display should ask for an answer dn number.
Press the SCAN key (one of the three soft keys near the display)
The extension that was ringing on this set should be listed here.
Press CHANGE til it says UNASSIGNED.
Press the release key when finished

feature **admin (use #s on dialpad)
type admin again
select #6 permissions
enter set (ext)# you want to forward
scroll down to "forward on busy" & select
you'll see "forward to" hit the "change" button
enter in the extension # you want it to go to when busy
then select to store
