I HAVE A SENTRY SAFE A3860 I NEED TO OVERRIDE THE ELECTRONIC CO

is there a reset button in the sentry safe X055 that i could use to reset the password

a1 locksmith advised me to To install batteries, remove cover between knob and keypad.Unlock door with the override key provided in the plastic bag attached to the owner's manual, and open the door using the knob. Remove battery cover located on the inside back of the door by sliding to the right. Insert the four batteries as indicated. Replace the battery cover.

The issue is that sentry safes are not of good quality. They provide very little protection and are of low quality. Our best advice is to visit http://www.sentrysafe.com/pdfs/OwnersManuals/400440.pdf and follow the directions for changing your code. Also....get a new safe! the factory code for sentry safes would normally be 00000.
if this does not work you may have to contact Sentry with the safe model and serial number .
these are normally found on a label on the back of the safe, or a label on the front edge of the safe.

Depending on model, some safes have a key override that can be used to open the safe. Most models do not. Without a key override, probably the only thing you can do is to contact a lock smith, otherwise, start checking each possible code combination until you find the correct code.

If there are valuables in the safe, then take it to a locksmith. Otherwise, it might be cheaper to get another safe.

1. Insert a paper clip or pen point into
the small hole of the battery cover located
directly below the keypad. Push in while
sliding cover to the right (Fig. B).
2. Disconnect and remove battery holder.
• Insert 4 new AA batteries (not included)
to power this lock.
• Reconnect the battery holder and put back into proper
position. Slide battery cover back in place.
NOTE: The yellow LED will light when the batteries need
to be replaced.

Key override
If your electronic lock fails or you do not have any codes
available, you may use a key override to access this unit.
1. Remove the battery cover, disconnect and remove the
battery holder.
2. Insert the skeleton key (second set of keys provided)
into the key hole inside the opening for the battery.
3. Turn the key to the right.
4. Turn the four-bitted key to the right.
5. Open the door.
