You most likely have the updated drivers. You may have to go and change a setting. I found an answer on the PS3 website that may be of some use to you. I hope this helps you: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=1662191 From the site: "go to bd/dvd setting and set the "108024hz" option off"

Your tv may not support 1080p, drop the resolution down to 1080i, as 1080p is the latest HD setting.

PS3 wont go 1080i/720p

I don't think there is a way to set your resolution manually, bro. They do it all by auto. If I may make a suggestion... Turn off both the TV & PS3. Unplug your HDMI, then make sure both your TV & PS3 are turned ON. Now re-connect your HDMI. A TV tech once told me that these units "communicate" through the HDMI. This can only occure whilst they're up & running. This may help get you going on to 1080i.
p.s. PS3 games only output 720p, max! This isn't always the case for Blu Ray movies, but it is for games. Good luck!

Acoustic Solutions 26'' HD TV cannot play PS3 blue ray films

I have recently brought the same TV and had the same problem but I've mangaed to find a soultion.

The automatic setting for Blu Ray on PS3 is Full HD (1080p) but the Acoustic Solutions TV is HD ready (720p). For PS3 games it will automattically change settings for you to 720p. This is why this works straight away but Blu Ray doesn't.

Solution

You need to plug in your PS3 using the scart contection, then on the ps3 menu go to settings > display settings > HDMI. You will then need to attach the HDMI cable and manually set up
HDMI by checking the 720p option and deselect 1080p.

That should then play Blu Rays too. You don't lose too much quality as 720p works nearly as well as 1080p on smaller TVs.

if you have a full hdtv then providing you set the playstation up in the settings menu to 1080p and use a hdmi cable then everything you play will be in hd (except ps1 and 2 games) but you can select to upscale these. all blu rays and ps3 games will be in full hd.

Sony ps3 an samsung tv

Well your PS3 Can't connect with your TV to the Samsung, because PS3 Was made HD Blu-Ray. If your TV/Samsung is not supported by High Def. or Blu-Ray, it will not work, you will need a different HDMI Cable, and it should work fine.
Hope this Helped.

Blu ray not playing on ps3

Could be an overheating issue.. Is there enough air circulation around the unit? Is it possibly dusty? try and perform minor servicing (use a can of compressed air incase if there's dust causing problems)

Does this happen on regular dvd's ?

Ps3 not playing blu ray on my samsung LCD

Change the frame rate on your tv to 60hd, that should solve it. Basically, your tv might be set to theater mode which is playing 24hd..

Help for a friend; ln-s4095d, hdmi and blu-ray.. no picture

You may want to try a good, Monster Cable, HDMI cable. Visit this page: http://www.monstercable.com/HDMI/advancedhdmi.asp
If you have a standard HDMI cable, it will not support 1080P.

So this is one of the few times that I will recommend spending the money for a better cable.
The better cable improves picture color quality, from 8 bit to 12 bit and it improves audio quality.

Samsung LCD tv and PS3

the problem is with the frames per second that the ps3 is putting out. i wound up calling both samsung and sony and the problem was in the settings. the ps3 allows you the option of playing in 24hz and for some reason if the option isn't turned off our tvs won't display frames at that rate. just go to the dvd settings and deselect the 24hz option, changing it from AUTO to OFF... the only problem i have with this is that this should effect the picture quality, becasue if it isn't displaying in 24hz that means it is downscaling the display and if it isn't upscaled by the tv's processor, then the display should be worse. i might be imagining it, but it does seem worse.. atleast they play now though. hope i helped.
