Green Screen The TV screen keeps turning green. I switched the cable box twice. The picture always looks good. After about 5-10 min the screen switches to total green. I have to turn the TV off to get the picture back.

The cable box is hooked up with HDMI cable. When the screen goes green there is no picture, just blank green screen.

    Thanks

Hi, how is the cable box hooked up to the TV? Is it HDMI cable or componet (red/green/blue) ? When you say totally green, do you mean the the picture is only green with the other colors missing or every color looks green ?

Can you try another source on the that same HDMI input ? I would like to see if this is the TV that is not working properly or the cable box. You can also try to hook up the cable box to the TV with component cables instead of the HDMI cable. The component cables are the red/green/blue colored cables. You will also need to add another cable to send audio to your TV. Component cables are just as good as an HDMI cable. HDMI is needed to display 1080p and blu-ray is the only 1080p video source thats is currently out right now so if your not using a blu-ray player, then you really don't need to use an HDMI cable. I bet that your TV will look as good or even better with a component cable.

Samsung screen goes grey with green letter? Have Comcast cable

When the green letters appear, turn off the cable box only.
If the screen changes, the problem is in the cable box or hookup.
If the letters stay, there is a problem in your TV.

Green light stays on when trying to turn off tv. picture go's off when cable remote is used but green light stays onand you can see that screen is still on?

You need to set up the cable box remote for your TV , now you are just turning off the cable box. Some cable boxes have a switched plug on the back that will turn on and off with the box. If yours has the switched receptacle you can use that to turn the TV on and off by plugging your TV into the switched receptacle. Make sure the TV power is on, the receptacle will kill the power so the clock on the TV wont work. Otherwise you need to set the code for your TVs remote and use the system power button.

My LCD tv model LN46A650A1FXZA picture turns green after about being on for 5 minutes. Then is gets fuzzy and green

I have the same issue. TV is ~ 2 yrs old. Ruled-out cable-box & HDMI cables (green present in menu mode with no cables attached).

Screen turns mostly green, with a crappy picture. After a few days, a normal picture just appeared. Today I powered-on, the green screen stuff came up, then a minute later a good picture for about 20 minutes, back to green-stuff for 10 seconds, then good picture.

Did chavez_debi get her issue resolved?

Screen is all Green

New cable box recently? If not, your cable provider has probably pushed a firmware update to your cable box. Green screens are very common with HDMI connection. From your symptom, I am going to take a guess that you are connected via HDMI. If so, switch to Component cables and your problem is solved. It's not the TVs fault... cable boxes seem to be the single largest problem child for HDMI compatibility. I hope this was of some assistance.

Input 6 - HD Input - Green Screen. Audio Only. No picture.

Hi there,
I am having a similar problem with the inputs. I have a cable box plugged in to cable antenna, DVD to video 6 using HDMI, Mac computer plugged in to video 7 - using HDMI (TV does not recognize this) and then Nintendo Wii hooked up to Video 1. My problem is that Sony only realizes 2 additional components like the video 1 (wii) and DVD on video 6, it does not play the other components. I have to niw manually switch the cables to have them work...

Screen keeps turning green

My Panasonic Plasma television started doing a green screen also. When it does it to me, is when I use the Last button or the Fav button. This is with Charter Communication. If I go back and forth, to various stations, then one station will turn green. So by trial and error, I found that when I clicked on a station, the screen would turn green. I had to push the Guide button, then the guide would come up, then push the Exit button, to get rid of the Guide, and then it would be on the station you wanted. If that does not work, then I have to just turn the TV off and turn it back on. It is rather annoying, however, as long as I can get rid of it, I can deal with it, instead of always turning the TV off. I don't know if this happens with all TV's or just Plasmas. If it does, I will not get another Plasma, if it happens with all TV's, maybe it is the remote, or the cable company. I just don't know.
