Loud buzzing noise throu8ghout cycle. Sometimes washer sticks in wash mode

My Whirlpool DU1055XTPS makes a horrible contiuous buzzing noise through most of the wash cycle. Although it does change in pitch and frequency during drain, wash and fill, it never really goes away. It sounds like it is coming either from the control panel or the left side, but I cannot be sure. It does not sound like an obstruction in the pump or motor, but rather more like an electrical resistance sound. It does not sound like a warning buzzer, but maybe it could be one that is vibratign at an unusual frequency. There are no error lights, and the washer goes through all of its cycles appropriately, but the noise is defening. Please tell me what to look for or how to diagnose this problem.
Thank you,
Charles The little actuator type motor in the dispenser goes off buzzing like crazy and its random. This motor is used to open the dispenser door. I bought a replacement dispenser assembly which includes new motor and it still has the same random buzzing sound.

Would this be some type of issue with a relay or something?

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Loud buzzing noise throu8ghout cycle. Sometimes washer sticks in wash mode

Hi!

The noise is coming from the power board may be a loose connection or a cold solder joint

Washing machine makes buzzing noise

Check the water pump for an obstruction in the chamber area, your pump may be sticking and that will cause the buzzing sound. The water pump runs during the fill portion of the cycle on several of the selected wash cycles to recirculate the water.

Washer won't drain, makes loud noise

This problem, or some variation thereof evidently is very common with these Whirlpool Washers!  I have same problem.  So far, best I have found is at  http://applianceguru.com/forum2/5958.html#
diagnosis by someone who knows.  What William Burk says there makes sense.  However, to get to the drive block there's quite a bit of disassembly required.  I am stopped because I cannot get the spanner nut off.  Hope this gives you some help toward finding a more comprehensive answer

Loud buzzing noise throu8ghout cycle. Sometimes washer sticks in wash mode

first thing i would check is to make sure your copper water line is not touching the motor this will give you this noise. just take off lower kick plate and start d/w you will be able to tell where the noise is coming from.

Extremely noisy Whilrpool, sounds like electrical resistance.

Mine did that when the end of the impeller broke off- the sound is the grinding of the remaining end of the impeller against the gears on the engaging end of the chopper. You'll need to get out your screwdriver to dig in deeper and find out if this is the problem.

Loud continuous buzzing noise while dishwasher is running

Hi hope you are well have you checked that the dishwasher isnt touching your units either side their should be a slight gap either side you will get this noise if it is touching anything at the sides or pressed up against something at the back if this is not the problem.
If it is making the noise through most of the wash cycle the the chances are it isnt going to be a pump on the way out the only other thing it could be is the motor that turns the spray arms around and it could be either the top or bottom usually if you can get to the motors you can oil the moving parts as sometimes thse get dry over time.
Try the first sollution first try moving the dishwasher a bit and then try it again if still noisy then the chances are one of the motors has got noisy on the spray arms it wouldnt be the pumps as the noise continues through most of the wash.
Some times just moving the dishwasher will recitfy the problem as the same happens with fridges and freezers if it has been knocked and is not level or is touching a unit you will get a slight vibrating noise so try moving it a bit.
Let us know how you get on

Bad noise at begining of rinse cycle.

It sounds like your gear case (transmission) has gone bad. If the washer fills and agitates that tells me that the problem cannot be with the motor coupling and drive motor. It also rules out a pump problem if the washer completes a wash cycle and drains properly. The only thing left is the gears inside the transmission. Sometimes they go bad in a way that portions of the wash will work while others don't. The part number is 3360629 and the price usually runs about $150. I hope this may help you in some way.
