I have giotech ex-02s and when I hook it up to my ps3 it won't charge how do I fix this?

There could be multiple problems. Make sure the device is connected correctly. If it is make sure other devices with same connection type work with port to verify that the port is functioning correctly. Locate drivers for hardware and reinstall on the computer. Make sure incoming audio function for computer/ program is set to the Altec Lansing AHS-502 Headset. If these solutions do not work call service number for Altec to further options or warranty information.

Shouldn't need drivers for this. Open System Preferences, which can be found in the Utilities folder, if it is not already on your Dock. It looks like a light switch with an apple logo on it. From there select Sound, under the hardware section. Click output, select the headphones, select Click input, again select the headphone/mic set. If it is not on the list, then so sorry, i was wrong, you need drivers, which you should be able to get from the altec lansing site.

If this is set and you still cant here, please let me know what system he is using. Is it the in game one from WoW? Ventrilo? If vent he will need the server data etc. from his guild or friend he is trying to speak with. If it is the in game one, just tell him to follow the in game instructions, they are fairly straight forward.

I had this problem. The culprit, I suspect, is the sound card or integrated sound chipset. In my case, I was using integrated sound on my motherboard. I recommend updating your sound card or motherboard sound drivers.

The independent site providing the software is not working anymore, and the 221 are not anymore in factory product page. I think the best thing to do is contacting directly Altec Lansing, and asking a replacement cd.

Doing a driver search don't help much, so I recommend 2 things here, wait until MS, make a Service Pack Cd, for Vista, or go to the Altec Lansing Page and see if for your particular model, there are drivers for vista.
other than that, a generic sound driver, could fix the problem.

maybe its a problem with your sound card. Check your microphone settings in Windows.

What i've done in similar situations is basically trail and error. You've got two spots for one wire, try them both out.

Some companies will use a generic piece for all their similar products. Maybe one of Altec's other headsets uses that 5th spot for something. Just try them both out and see what happens. Just dont solder them right away, stick them on with some electrical tape or something to save yourself some time. Then when you're sure you can solder away.
