GE Portable Airconditioner - Model APN10AA Serial # GG509122

The water full light comes on seems like every 10 minutes. I unplug the drain plug and let the water drain. Not much water comes out of the unit. Then I restart the unit. It works for about 10-15 minutes and shuts down again. I can hear the fan running but the condenser has shut down. Current temps 85-92 degress not normal for this area. Is this a function of the system or do I have to have a service tech come and check the unit out. TJ

Ours was leaking water. After taking the covers off, cleaning it,and draining all the water out, I started getting the same problem with the light coming on every 7 minutes. I actually added some water to the system till it was too full and then drained it out through the plug. The light still came on every 7 minutes until I turned the unit off and then unplugged it for a few minutes. I plugged it back in, turned it on and reset the temperature. It seemed to reset itself and kept running normally. BB

Mine was doing the same thing, flooding the floor and not filling the cup. I took the back cover
off and the condenser fins were totally clogged with dust. You can only get to it by taking off the back cover (about 10 screws). Cleaned all the compacted dust off the condenser fins, seems to be OK now. I also ran a cable up the two black tubes that drip the water into the cup (you can see this if you remove the cup), and I clicked the outside tube valve (that you connect a hose to if you wish) on and off several times. One of those fixed the problem I think it was the clogged condenser fins causing the unit to sweat where it was not supposed to..

I bougth an Uberhaus Airconditioner R410A. It is draining out onto the carpet, while I use the airconditioner, We hadn't attached the drainage tube! Is this supposed to be constantly drainned or does...

If this is the 3-in-1 air conditioner, then you have two options:
1- do you see two drain outlets on the back? one is at the very bottom and has a removable plug and the second should be about half way down also with a removable plug. This air conditioner has a small non-removable tank that will fill up and a red light on the panel will light up and the machine will switch to FAN mode when full. Then you have to roll the machine to a drain and unplug the bottom plug to let it drain out. Not resonable.Probably good for a basement with a drain in the floor, but not on the main floor or 2nd storey floor.

2nd method is to unplug the top drain (Keep the bottom drain plugged) , attach the plastic hose that the machine came with to this drain, find a bucket that is at the same height or below the top drain and let the water drain into the bucket. Then when it gets about 3/4 of the way full, empty the bucket. This way the airconditioner mode and the humidifier mode will work continously.
This is the way this type of air conditioner is made.

Hope that helps

Water full light keeps coming on and shutting unit down. There is absolutely no water in it.

Check your float switch. It might be stuck in the up position.

A portable manual

note: while this is a different brand ac it gives an idea how they work and what to check

I have a GE APN10AA portable A/C unit haven't used it in a few years and I think that you need to put water in it prior to running it but can't find the owners manual - any help

I have the APH10AA model and the manual is compatible with the APN10 model as well. It claims that with regular use the unit produces water on its own. It has a built in evaporator but may occasionally have to be drained. A manual for this unit can be found at GEAPPLIACES.COM. Just need to input your model number and search "use and care manuals" in the top right corner of their site.

Water full light is on how do i drain it?

if you are standing in front of the machine, there should be a removable panel on the right side. the water bucket is behind this (and sometimes attached to it) just slide it out and pour it in the sink, the air will come back on as soon as you put the bucket back.

Leaks and must be drained every half hour

A user said its doing what its suppose to do ,remove moisture, and you do have to empty the bucket atleast 5-times a day or night, and the automatic shutoff shutsoff when you need it most, so he wnt to a window unit and have' not looked back since!

Window unit air conditioner

Sounds like a full cleanning job or the drain line is plugging up. First , check for A 10* lean toward the back of the unit for proper drainnage, 2- check for good air flow thru the front coils--(dirty filter --dirty coil and last ,add some clorox bleach all across the front coil while off>)
