Crosley TV When my cable was shut off, my tv still played vcr tapes and dvd's for a couple of days but then stopped playing those and started playing a sales pitch about buying this tv, why it's the best, different features, etc., but I can find no button to stop this or to reset it. Anybody have any idea? My only thought is that the cable's signal must be strong enough to over power this built-in signal but not successfully for long. Thoughts?

The TV is in the demo mode. This has nothing to do with the cable signal. If it is a Magnavox set, which is what you have it listed under, then press the volume up and the volume down buttons at the same time.

Why won't older Sanyo VCR playback VHS tape on new HD-LCD TV?

Hello,
The problem is not with your TV. I have had this problem as well and the older the VCR gets the harder it is for it to turn the tape. Does your VCR react the same way with other tapes? Try Fastforwarding the tape about halfway and then test it again.

I hAVE 24 in DVD triple combo ^&@$DG TV. I put

You're describing what could be a loose or worn loading belt problem, most of the vcr mechanisms used in these combos use one to load the tape and thread it for it to play or record, that is why you have to keep puhing the tape untill the machine accepts the tape and you have to keep pressing play untill it starts the play function.

T.V. shuts off when I try to play a DVD in the built-in player

Try putting in a VCR tape let it load and hit stop. If the set stays on it's the VCR deck causing the problem. It will be either be bad sensors or LED or possibly the mode switch. Let me know if this helps.

VCR will play, but not record.

You gotta connect the signal cable to the input of the vcr and in the output of the vcr other cable to the tv input, when you got to record some program you need put the channel number on the vcr not in the tv if you conect the vcr to the tv in the avinputs the tv will be in video mode, because the vcr receipt the signal.
Good luck
