It's a Vector Maxx SST 3000 watt power inverter. Model VEC051D. Even with nothing plugged into it, the fault light is staying lit. I don't see a GFI or breaker to reset anywhere on the unit. My battery connection is good and I have to power to it. I'm wondering what I can do to reset the fault, please help me I'm lost.

It probably does, but an in-line fuse is still the safest way to go, connected as close as possible to the voltage source as possible. The internal overcurrent protection device (aka, fuse or breaker) in the inverter will prevent the DEVICE from melting if it malfunctions. An in-line fuse will protect EVERYTHING if the WIRING malfunctions.
well unless you bought the 24 volt unit no one battery will run the unit, according to black and decker this unit is not being made, did you buy it new or at a yard sale?
one way to tell is look on bottom of unit, it will tell you if it is 24 or 12 volt model.
I am assuming that the inverter works with other devices. This being the case, i am thinking that the television start up current is drawing too much power too quick for the inverter to handle and this is what is shutting down the inverter.
sounds to me like there is a dead short somewhere in the system, I would take it to an electrical appliance repair shop and they can fix it. If there are none in your town then look on the internet for one in your state so you won't have to send it very far to get it fixed.
Inverter run on batteries sir, and if these batteries are not charged, the run time {the number of hours it will work} reduces. S0, you will need to connect the inverter to a power source.Theses will allow your batteries to be charged and enable it to run for a long period of time. Make sure your batteries are still OK.i.e working properly
Check that ground is correctly connected. If nuetral is provided, ensure it too is connected. Your total load is 780 watts. Check power in and ground out of the supply side. There may be a fuse in the inverter on the output side also, replace if necessary. If fault light does not go out after these checks, you will need to contact Black and Decker who manufactures the vector series now.
Probably has an internal fuse that is blown. You will have to disconnect it from dc power and take the cover off and look for a fuse that is blown, should be near the AC outlet or on the circuit board. Could be a glass tube or newer style automotive plug in type. Good luck.
disconnecting the DC input for 5 min. , didn't help
same thing is happening to mine!
