Amana ARG7300w oven inop

Oven will not work for Baking, broil and clean, the stove top burners, clock and oven light work. When turned on there is no gas smell and the burner does not get hot and it appears the pilot light is out.

The oven must have a pilot (no clicking). I tried to relight it but I could not get it to relight and I didn't see a button or switch to hold while relighting

I believe this model has a glow bar (hot surface igniter).  I can see the bar slowly get bright when I turn the knob, but no gas smell, and no heat.  :(

Any thoughts?  Like the OP, my burners work fine, etc.

  • Taliesin Oct 24, 2007

I don't know if this is the OP's issue, but I think my issue is that of a worn out glow bar igniter.  I let the glow bar sit there all lit up for awhile, and when the oven got a little warmer, the gas kicked on and everything worked fine.  Maybe about 1.5 minutes.  I have been reading in other places that this is symptomatic of a bad glow bar.  Replace the glow bar, it heats up the over faster, which kicks on the gas sooner, which ignites and cooks my food.  :)

    Hope this helps.

Just saw that PTOON posted that as well.  I already rated his on accident, or I would have rated it higher.  His was the correct answer.

I have a Gas Amana Range. The stove top works fine, but the oven will not heat when I select a temperature or broil. I can hear it making noise, but still no heat!

Hi.

If the oven is not baking or broiling test the temperature probe sensor located inside the oven cavity. To test the sensor read impedance (Ohms) using a multimeter. If the reading is infinity, then the sensor must be replaced.

If sensor is OK, the problem is usually either broiling or baking. In that case check igniter and valve coils, the flame sensor does not fail very often.

Regards.

GE Profile Stove baking option not working

Possibly the bake igniter, the temperature sensor or the electronic oven clock/control. Does broil mode heat properly or does it run cool also? If broil heats to the proper temperature then the temperature sensor is probably ok. That leaves the ignitor or the controller which takes some more troubleshooting. If it is the controller, we repair them at www.fixyourboard.com.

Oven won't broil

You probably have a bad broil ignitor. When you turn the oven onb to broil the ignitor on the top of the oven should glow bright orange. If it doesn't glow or glows a dull orange, it is probably bad.

Freestanding Electric Maytag Stove /Oven (with 4 burners self clean w/clock)

I WOULD LOOK AT THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY AS THE DEFECT. THERE IS USUALLY A SWITCH THAT TELLS THE CONTROL IF THE DOOR IS LOCKED OR NOT. IF THE SWITCH HAS SHORTED CLOSED, THE CONTROL THINKS THE DOOR IS LOCKED AND WON'T DO ANYTHING BUT CLEAN.
MOST OF THE ASSEMBLIES ARE UNDER THE RANGE TOP.
YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE TWO SCREWS FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TOP AT EACH OF THE FRONT CORNERS. OPEN THE OVEN DOOR TO GAIN ACCESS.
IT WILL BE LOCATED IN THE CENTER. THE DOOR HOOK THAT STICKS OUT TO ENGAGE THE DOOR IS PART OF THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY.
