Large cracks have appeared on the outside bottom left hand and right hand side of each hinge on my Acer 3613 laptop. They are going to et bigger each time I open the lid and I dont want the problem to get any worse. Is there anything I can do like use silicone sealant or does anyone know of a better solution. My husband suggested Duck tape!
Apply a lubricant to the hinges themselves - not a ton of lubricant, as you don't want anything running down into the laptop proper.
What sound like has happened is that the display has somehow been in a bind, and therefore the hinges are in a bind. This makes it harder to moved the hinges, and thus when you open the lid it is making the cracks.
You may also want to unseat / unscrew the hinges and re-tighen the little screws that hold them in place.
Hello - Do you notice if the dishwasher have deflectors installed in the bottom left and right corners of the tub gasket channel? If so, confirmed that they are properly installed and present. In case that it is not, they may possibly need replacing. However, from what you have described it sounds like the springs or hinges may possibly be damaged, or gasket not sealing properly. I would strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Tried lubrication but hasn't seemed to help. How do I unseat/unscrew hinges to re-tighten little screws I dont know where to start?
