My nintendo ds lite stopped working but does charge

My nintendo ds lite stopped working but it DOES take a charge. The only thing that comes on when I press the power button is the green lite indicating that it is charged, nothing else.

Just fixed the same symptom on one today this is my scenario
been dropped and landed on the same edge of the power switch thus breaking the base of the power switch open it up and look at the metal sheath that goes around the power switch where it solders to the circuit board could have pulled off the board (need experience to tell) this needs to be soldered to the board to complete the curcuit. if not that just below the power switch you will see a (or not see) a boney color capasitor about 3mmx3mmx5mm fallen off its mounts resolder and enjoy if helps give us a tick to help others

The wires connecting the power to the screen may have stopped working properly. You should get your DS Professionaly checked at.

The LCD screens may be dead. Ask a mechanic to change the screens.

Or maybe it is about the hinge. the cables may be damaged.

Did you spill anything on the DS??

How can I claim warranty on my Nintendo DS Lite

That depends on the type of warranty. If it's a new DS Lite, it should come with a 30-day warranty through Nintendo. To claim that, you have to either call Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700 or contact them online at www.nintendo.com.

If you got the system at your local GameStop, they offer a 1-year replacement warranty. If your system stops working, you can just bring it in with the warranty and they will replace your system free of charge.

Nintendo DS Lite won't come on

@JoepIt, you have a defective LCD screen. Could be upper of lower (I thing for 99% the upper).

@pietras1422, on the mainboard next to the power-switch, there is a resistor. If could be loose or is missing completely. Problem will occur when the DS Lite is dropped to the ground

Nintendo DS Lite won't turn on

My kids did the same thing. What I did to get it to work was to push back on the top and hold it turn it on. If it comes on then turns off after you let it go get 2 rubber bands and put the 1st. one on the top left down to the bottom right. The 2nd. one goes from the top right right to the bottom left. Then keep turning it on while moving the top to find the sweet spot.

Ds lite charging lite comes on but when i press power button nothing happens

Are you leaving the DS charge until the light comes off? Remember that there are two likes too, one for charging and one for power. If you're just charging for some random period of time (lets say... One hour) then your Battery isn't going to be fully charged. The best way to ensure that your DS Lite is charged is to leave it charge until the charge light turns off. You can play your DS Lite while you are charging (I do it all the time), but it just means that you're just running off of the outlet.

A good test is to charge it fully (until the charge light comes off), unplug the charger cord (Make sure it's secured tightly to your DS while charging), then play for a little bit, your light should be a normal color (green).

If you cannot even play by using the outlet, then you need to
find a charger cord that actually works (You may need to send in the charger for replacement). If the same thing happens with 2 different batteries (assuming that you have two official Nintendo batteries).

TIP: Also run your fingers across the Charger cord. You're going to get a slight friction burn from the rubber, but you're going to get all of the kinks out of the wire in the cord. My charger cord had a similar problem (did not charge all the way, only charged until I moved the DS) but when I ran my fingers across it (pinching) it worked again.

Also check the pins in both charger cords, charging will not work if one pin is missing, nor if any are bent.
