My config pages are ejecting looking like christmas trees because the magenta, cyan and yellow have all deposited excess toner on the page indescriminately. Except blank lines run across the pages in roughly 10 areas where I'm thinking toner is scraped off prior to entering the fuser. I have replacement toner carts. on the way to insert tomorrow (this won't fix the scaping issue but hopefully the dumping issue) after another thorough cleaning.
Unfortunately, another cool occurance is toner is collecting on the transfer film (for lack of another term) so the rear of my pages, after they exit the fuser, are multicolored on both sides.

Thanks tonersmart for confirming my assumption. After cleaning, even though as you say it should clear-up by itself I should tidy up one of my users printers.
I was getting a reading on the display earlier when I removed and replaced the magenta and yellow carts a showing of -
Bar Graph... ?... ?... Bar Graph
so to me that means that the printer was reading the black cart but not the magenta or yellow and then it read the cyan. My plan is to clean the contacts also but I'm hoping any communication problems were with the problem carts.
No worries about the compressed air, I save that for equipment that doesn't have sensors.
I do not understand what you mean by "bar graph".
You have bad cartridges or old cartridges. When the cartridge leaks, thats the only way you are going to get anything on the BACK of the page.
You put genuine HP carts in it, or QUALITY remanufactured carts, your problem will stop. Don't clean the transfer belt with anything. It will get rid of built up toner on its own. At most, use a soft tissue to clean off the crud on it.
As far as the scraping goes, run a print, open the printer door just when the paper is midway. It will be in there stuck to the transfer belt. You will see the print defect on this UNFUSED image if theres something rubbing before it gets to the fuser.
DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR TO CLEAN OUT YOUR PRINTER, it will get on the laser scanner optics.
