Should have got the display, seems the signals are getting stuck somewhere.
check the RAM and the CPU. Try replacing them.
Have you checked for any carbon or a dust accumulation on the CPU and the socket pins.
Check for any carbon accumulation on the components on the motherboard.
Check if any component is getting heated up in excess.

hi i got biostar g31d-m7 motherboard dual core cpu 1 gb ram 500gb hard it wont boot just stucks in windows logo screen and cant even reinstall windows its just stucks in the booting logo

This is a very simple procedure.
When you have opened the case you will see the CPU cooling fan on top of the CPU. It is held on by two clips which fasten at the sides of the fan radiator, onto a clip which is fastened to the motherboard.
The clips are removed by turning the retaining clips to a loose position and then easing the clips from the securing lugs on the motherboard cradle. The cooling radiator may be stuck to the top of the CPU due to the heatsink compound used in the original fitting. If that is the case gently but firmly rotate the radiator in a clockwise and then an anti-clockwise movement until you feel the adhesion get loose. DO NOT try pulling the radiator upwards until you can feel no resistance.
The radiator should then pull away from the CPU easily. This will reveal the CPU beneath. Release the CPU retaining lever at the side of the CPU until it is vertical to the motherboard. The CPU can be lifted from it's carrier. Be aware that the CPU has small pins which locate into it's carrier in a specific way. Refer to the CPU documentation as to how to refit it. Although CPUs are susceptible to static, placing it onto a piece of aluminium foil or conductive plastic will protect it.

Hi Check that the power button is not stuck on or that the reset button is not stuck on as this will cause the machine to shut back down instantly i hope this helps

Hi,

The heatsink is probably stuck on with the cooler compound. If it's really stuck on, then I would release the CPU brace as well and pull the CPU out with the heatsink. Then carefully wedge something sharpe between the heatsink and cpu, like a razor blade and slowly push the blade through the compound until it's unstuck.

It sounds like the system is set to "auto" at the moment, OR the memory speed will not support the 133mhz fsb speed, check the RAM and see what the speed rating is. Leave the CPU multiplier alone, that may well damage the cpu.

Check the power supply switch of your cpu casing, make sure that it will not stuck when you switch on the power.

check the winfast website for a cpu support list for your model of motherboard, that will tell you if it supports it and ALSO if you need to update the bios to support later cpu's, i'd imagine your using the old socket A standard, see if your motherboard is listed here> http://www.leadtek.com/eng/mainboard/default.asp?lineid=3&seriesid=23&chipseriesid=15 (this is what is now listed in google as winfast and does show winfast boards), please advise if you get stuck anymore.

Just in case your pins are only bent you can straighten them out as long as you are careful. Take a mechanical pencil without lead (.5 works ok but .7 may be easier to use) and ground it by touching it to your power supply. Then work the CPU pin slowly into the pencil and slowly bend the pin up. If you?re patient and careful you can usually straighten out any pins that have been bent. You didn?t stat which version motherboard you had. On the P4VMM2 (V1.3) motherboard the manual states that the motherboard will automatically determine the CPU clock and system buss frequency and makes the appropriate changes. The manuals only references a front-side buss limitation of 400 MHz, however, a FAQ from the manufactures support site says the V1.x motherboard?s CPU is limited as follows: - Pentium 4 400Mhz FSB (256K/512K L2 cache) CPU ? 2.6GHz - Celeron 400Mhz FSB (128K L2 cache) CPU ? 2.6GHz I would stick with the FAQ recommendations if you have to purchase a new processor, that or contact the support line to verify. Make sure you point out the FAQ on their site since they will probably just refer you to the manuals specs.
