SOURCE: E04 comes on after fan purge cycle-Pentair minimax nt pool heater
This is a fan falure code. It can mean the fan has problems (not likley if the fan goes and isn't labored) You have a sensor in your exaust (probally not this if you don't get a good start) The culperet is probally in the negetive pressure sensor. This is a 2-3 inch disc with wires going to the controls and a rubber tube going to the fan. Pull the tube from the fan and make sure the fan fitting is clear (poke with a tooth pic) Be sure their are no kinks in the hose. If the heater is 4 years old the diaprahm could be bad in the pressure sensor. Check the other things first but this is probally your problem. Good luck, hope this helped.
SOURCE: error code e04
If the fan was seized, it is likely bad, even if you freed it. If it doesn't sound the same, or is not as loud as it used to be, it is also most likely bad. If it doesn't move enough air to close the air pressure switch, then you will get an 04 fault, which is an air flow fault. HTH
SOURCE: pentair minimax nt explosive ignition
Problem is an obstructed gas oriface. The burners light from the burner closest to the pilot assembly out like a dominoe effect. The explosion is because the gas has to make its way over to the pilot from a further burner thus filling the firebox full of gas before it ignites. This blockage is most commonly from a spider web inside the oriface itself. Pull the burner tray, remove the orifaces from the tray and look through each one cleaning them out with a toothpick from the backside. The orifaces should be threaded on the gas line coming off the gas valve (looks like a silver box inside the front panel)
SOURCE: pentair MinMax NT Fireman's switch connection
The connection point is not critical as long as the fireman's switch is connected in series with the safety loop. For instance you may cut a wire connected to the pressure switch and use two wire nuts to connect the wires from the fireman's switch, one to each side of the cut wire.
