Need oil change in water

I have a Mercury 90 HP outboard engine. I need to change the oil and filter but cannot take the boat out of the water. What is the best way to do this?

If its a 2 stroke, there is no oil to change, if its a 4 stroke, you can pump the oil out with a small diameter tube pump.Depending on the motor, you can get it through the dipstick or the fill opening. If you need to change the gear oil, there is no way to change it while in the water. Stop by a marine supply store and get some oil absorbsion pads (diapers) in case you happen to spill any oil into the water

Turn The Boat Around So That The Engine is Nea The BankrUn Bolt The Gear Box From The Engine On The Bank,
Change The Impeller On Dry Land Replace Gear Oil and Re Fit
The Gear Box.
The Engine Does Not Have Oil Change Unless It Is A Four Stroke.
If It Is The Drain Plug Is On The Side Of The Mid Section And Can Be Drained With Leg Trimmed Up About Half Way
Sorry This Is Best Way.

1993 Mercury Outboard Engine. Why is it not peeing?

Question edited for clarity, but needs engine model and HP.
Question moved from Dishwashers.

Some ideas here. Check that the impeller spins (the drive is okay), but it sounds like you have blocked passageways.

Mercury 150hp Optimax outboard

many mercury motors use a rubber mounted prop on the shaft which is a sacrificial idea to prevent gear box damage and prop damage in with under water objects
what you suggests indicates that at certain load situations that rubber has failed and allowing the shaft to turn but is not driving the prop as required
It is driving just enough to give you steerage to get home

Water got into the engine oil of my 8 hp 4 stroke when on the boat only as troller

Water gets in your engine through the exhaust with the boat speed! Lift that engine when not in use!
